Operation (cont'd)
Using the Roller Supports
The purpose of the roller support system is twofold:
• To help the conduit advance freely into the bending
shoe.
• To apply pressure to the walls of the conduit so that it
does not flatten or wrinkle.
1/2" through 1-1/4"
This roller support should always be in the up position
when 1/2" to 1-1/4" conduit is being bent. This roller can
be pivoted out of the way for easier loading or unloading.
1-1/2" and 2" Rigid and 40 Mil PVC-coated
Rigid Conduit
Make sure that the roller support is in the fully retracted
position—down and to the right.
1-1/2" and 2" EMT, IMC, or Rigid Aluminum Conduit
Make sure that the roller support is in the fully engaged
position—up and to the left.
1. Load the conduit.
2. Move the roller engagement handle up and to the
left.
• The rollers will move up and squeeze the conduit
against the shoe. Support the tail end of long
conduit to ease the engagement, if necessary.
• As the roller system approaches the stops, the
locking cam of the roller system will drop in behind
the handle and "lock" the rollers into place.
Notes:
If it is difficult to engage the rollers completely, the
squeeze is probably set too high.
If it is necessary to manually disengage the roller
support unit, twist the roller support handle
counterclockwise.
Keep hands away from the retention cam and roller
support when twisting the roller support handle. The
roller support and cam can move rapidly when it
disengages.
Failure to observe this warning can result in severe
injury.

Adjusting the Squeeze
When bending 1-1/2" and 2" EMT, IMC, and rigid
aluminum conduit, the roller support must be engaged
so that it contacts the conduit. The pressure against the
conduit is the "squeeze."
Typically, the squeeze adjustment arm is vertical (at the
middle hole) but can be changed by moving the position
of the thumbscrew. Remove conduit from the bender
when adjusting squeeze.
Changing the squeeze may affect the bending accuracy.
If the conduit is over- or underbent, refer to "Accuracy
Adjustment" in the "Troubleshooting" section of this
manual.
