Shell Inspection
Replace the helmet shell if:
• the shell is cracked, dented or damaged in any way that could allow contaminants to enter or
reduce head protection capability, or
• the shell has sustained a blow or other impact from a falling or glancing object, or
• the air inlet connection is damaged.
Head Suspension and Chin Strap Inspection
Replace the chin strap (W-2913) if it becomes worn, damaged or cannot be secured to the helmet.
Replace the suspension (W-2878) if the headband or crown straps are damaged or if the suspension
lugs will not secure to the inner shell.
Faceshield Inspection
Outer faceshield
Replace the abrasive blasting faceshield frame and latch kit (W-8110) if:
• the outer faceshield frame becomes damaged, deformed or cannot be secured to the helmet, or
• the latch becomes damaged or fails to secure the outer faceshield to the helmet.
Replace the outer faceshield (W-8101) if it:
• becomes scratched, cracked, or
• cannot be secured into the faceshield frame, or
• does not seal against the helmet gasket.
Replace the faceshield frame gasket kit (W-8113) if the foam faceshield gaskets are missing,
deformed, or damaged in any way.
Inner Faceshield
Replace the Inner faceshield (W-8160) if it:
• becomes scratched, cracked, or split, or
• does not fit securely into the helmet gasket.
Replace the Helmet Gasket (W-8030) if it is missing, deformed or damaged or if it fails to retain the
inner faceshield.
tighten any loose gasket screws (W-8032) and replace any that are missing or damaged.
the inner shell must be removed from the outer shell if the helmet is to be submerged or to replace
the air guide.
Breathing Tube Inspection
Replace the breathing tube if the breathing tube cuff is damaged or deformed, or if the breathing tube
is torn, ruptured or damaged in any way.
