OVEN TYPE DESCRIPTION
II.
Phoenix DryRod® Ovens are designed to serve their users
with long and faithful service. They will hold or bake SMAW
electrodes and protect them from moisture pick up as long
as in operation.
Wiring
Check type and voltage on nameplate.
1. Type 400BT Model 2-NM (3/60/240V, 3/60/480V AC
only).
2. Type 400BT Model 2-NM-5 (3/50/380V AC only).
3. Type 400BT Model 2-NM-6 (3/50/415V AC only).
Grounding
The 400BT oven has a grounding lug in the upper control
box. Since the oven operates with electrical components,
grounding is required for safe operation. This connection
should be made at the ground terminal of the terminal block
in the oven and should be run separately and directly to a
positive ground.
Installation
This oven was crated and packaged with as much protective
material as required for safe shipment. Care must be exer-
cised in removing the crating lumber.
NOTE: The oven should be left on its skid until in the final
location. This will allow for safer and easier handling.
After oven is in its final location, anchor as required, open
the oven door, and remove packing material, manuals, and
loose parts. You may want to mount the oven on a stand so
that the bottom shelf is more accessible. If the height of
such a stand is 18 inches or less the controls can still be
reached by the operator when standing on the floor.
