Washing and care instructions
Please comply with the care instructions on the textile
label of your orthosis. Open the straps and the front
velcro fasteners and spread the orthosis out in front of
you. The pads must be lying completely flat, i.e. there
should be no visible upward arching. Next release and
remove the two straps that are fastened to the splints
by means of velcro fasteners (the first strap above and
below the knee respectively). The following points
are important to ensure that the splints are returned
into the correct position in relation to the padding,
as adjusted by the specialist at the store where you
bought the orthosis, after you have cleaned the pads.
Please pull the end of the uppermost strap gently to
the left until the strap buckle on the right side contacts
the splint buckle. Now guide the end of the strap over
the splint buckle on the left side and back to the right,
then attach the velcro fastener onto the strap itself.
When the strap is closed in this manner, it should
be slightly under tension with no scrunching of the
pads. Repeat this procedure for the other three belts.
Detach the splints from the padding (velcro fasteners)
and remove the disk-shaped pads from the orthosis
hinges. To ensure the thigh and calf circumference
settings made by the specialist are retained, please
do not open the velcro fasteners at the rear of the
thigh and calf pads. The joint and orthosis pads should
be washed by hand at approx. 30° C using a laundry
detergent for delicate fabrics. We recommend using
the mild Juzo Special Detergent. Wash the pads
separately the first time (possibility of bleeding). After-
wards, rinse out the pads well and allow them to dry in
a free-hanging position at room temperature; do not
wring them out. To reduce the drying time of the pads,
before hanging them up, place them on a thick terry
towel, roll them up tightly and squeeze them firmly. Do
not leave the orthosis in the towel and do not let it dry
on a radiator or in the sun. This product should not be
chemically cleaned.
Do not fasten the splints to the padding again until
they are fully dry. To do so, place the splints, with the
outer edges of the hinges facing down, in front of you
on the floor. The straps should all be under tension
to ensure the correct separation of the splints is
maintained. Now attach the disk-shaped hinge pads
to the velcro pads. Center the thigh padding (with the
outer edge facing down) on the more widely spaced
part of the splints so that the two highest points on the
pad almost touch the hinge pad. Now press the pad
into place. Repeat this procedure for the calf padding,
this time at the more closely spaced part of the splints.
Only attach the two loose straps again when applying
the orthosis.
