Sleep Mode

If there is no scanning activity for a specified period of time,
the scanner will enter a "sleep" mode. You select this period of
time by scanning the appropriate bar code in the Product
Reference Guide. This sleep mode saves power and extends
the life of the scanner. The LS 5300 will automatically awaken
as soon as you pass a bar coded item past the scan window.
What If...
If the scanner is not operating according to your needs, contact
the technical person in charge of scanning. If there is no one in
charge of scanning, see the LS 5300 Product Reference Guide for
the number of the Symbol Support Center.

Some Helpful Bar Codes

You can adjust the volume and the frequency (tone) of the
scanner's beeper by scanning the appropriate bar codes
beginning on page 31.
