OPERATION
1. Put the material that you want to heat into the furnace. To do this, whenever the furnace is hot, wear
gloves and use the pliers. TALLERES MESTRAITUA, S.L. strongly recommends to use MESTRA pliers.
2. Close the door and lock it with the key to prevent accidental opening.
3. Switch on the circuit breaker (C) in the left side of the furnace.
4. Turn the LOCK knob (H) clockwise to switch on the control panel and modify the program.
5. Program the furnace as explained in the previous section.
6. Press the red button (J) to connect the power circuit.
7. The lower display will show the "STOP" message, which means the furnace is not working
8. Keep the /RUN key pressed for a few seconds. The furnace will start up.
9. The upper display shows the real temperature inside the muffle.
10. The lower display shows the theoretical temperature the controls are trying to reach in each case.
11. Once the program is finished, the display will show the "STOP" message.
12. If you want to finish the program under way, keep the /STOP key pressed for a few seconds.
13. If you want to interrupt a program under way, keep the /RUN key pressed for a few seconds. The
electronic controls will show the "Hold" message and interrupt the timer; the controls will try to maintain the
theoretical temperature until the program is restarted again by keeping pressed the same key for a few
seconds.
14. When you have finished the work, press the red button (I) to disconnect the power circuit.
15. Do not open the door until the temperature of the muffle has dropped below 300 ºC. A sudden
change of temperature may damage the resistors.
16. When the furnace is hot, wear gloves and use the pliers to remove the material from inside the muffle.
TALLERES MESTRAITUA, S.L. recommends the use of MESTRA pliers.
17. To switch the control panel off, turn the LOCK knob (H) anticlockwise. If you are not going to use the
furnace for a long time, switch off the circuit breaker (C) in the left side of the furnace.
The furnace has two thermal magnetic circuit breakers to protect it from
electric overloads. One of them is placed in the left side of the furnace,
and the other one inside it (Fig. 11). Once the problem has been solved,
the circuit breakers have to be rearmed again.
WARNING: Connect the power circuit (red button) before you start the
pre-heating cycle with the electronic controls (by keeping the /RUN
key pressed). Otherwise, an overload could make the circuit breaker
inside the furnace go off or even the lab electrical installation.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

For a high reliability and a long working life of the unit, we strongly recommend the following:
Clean the outside of the furnace periodically.
When putting in or removing the materials from the furnace, take care not to damage the resistors or the
muffle that covers the inside of the furnace.
Prevent any liquid or solid substance dirtying or soiling the furnace muffle.
Do not open the door when the temperature is above 300 ºC. A sudden change of temperature may
damage the resistors.
Handle the resistors very carefully, since they are very fragile.
When selecting the time to reach a given temperature, select a time long enough to prevent the furnace
from working at full power when it is not necessary
