The DIL switch setting for operation mode and diagnostics
mode has to conform with the bus node selection as part
of a PLC hardware configuration (see configuration
example in the following figure).

In the Remote I/O operation mode with the I/O
Diagnostics Interface diagnostics mode, select a
bus node module with the System Table Interface or
STI mode ID from the CPX field device group.

In the Remote I/O operation mode with Status Bits
diagnostics mode, select a bus node module with
the Status mode ID from the CPX field device group.

Select a bus node without a mode ID in the remote
I/O without diagnostics operation mode.

In the Remote Controller operation mode, select a
bus node module from the CPX Remote Controller
field device group (separate group, not shown in the
figure).
