• Connection to the drainage network
a) The drainage of appliance "1" must go to an open type
receiving drain-trap "2" so there is no contact between the
two.

5.3.3 - Equipotential connection

• It is essential to connect the appliance to an equipotential
system. Use the setscrew marked with the symbol for this
connection.
• The cross-section of the equipotential wire must be 10 mm
• The building's earthing and equipotential systems must
conform to the laws in force and be checked periodically.
• The manufacturer is not liable if these accident prevention
rules and regulations are disregarded.

5.3.4 - Gas connection

• Before connecting, check on the data plate that the appliance
is set for the type of gas available on the user's premises. If it
is not, follow the instructions given in paragraph 6.5
"Converting to another type of gas".
• A quick closing cutoff cock must be installed in an easily
accessible point upstream from each appliance.
• Always use 3-piece fittings for the connection to facilitate
disassembly. Either galvanised metal or copper pipes must be
used, laid well in view. Flexible pipes can be used provided
they are stainless steel.
• Once connected, check the joins for leaks using a foam spray
product.
• Remember that 2 m

each Kw of power installed and that the accident prevention
rules and regulations must be complied with.
5.3.5 - Combustible gas exhaust for type "B11"
appliances.
• The exhaust gas of type "B11" appliances has to be extracted
by a special system, according to the laws in force. For this
purpose, a connecting flue must be installed, supplied on
request: (fig. 2)
• Remove the grid on the fumes exhaust.
• Position the connecting flue "P" on flue "1" and fix it with the
screws "2".
1. Natural extraction. (fig. 3)
Connect to an efficient natural draught flue by means of the
10
INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING THE PAN
/h of air is needed for combustion for
draught diverter "Q" (available on request) which discharges
the products of combustion directly outdoors (see cover)
This exhaust must be connected keeping in mind that the
pipe has to withstand a temperature of about 150°C.
2. Installation under an extractor hood with forced
extraction. (fig. 4)
If the appliance is installed under an extractor hood, the end
of the flue must be at least 1.8 m from the surface on which
the appliance is standing.
The supply of gas to the appliance must be connected directly
to the forced extraction system so that if the flow drops below
the prescribed limit the gas flow is cut off.
• It must only be possible to manually supply the appliance
again with gas.
• The extractor hood filter must be made with a heat resistant
material because the temperature of the burnt gases can
reach up to 300°C.
5.3.6 - Combustible gas exhaust for type "A"
appliances.
• The products of combustion produced by gas type "A"
appliances must be discharged through extractor hoods or
.
similar devices, connected to an efficient flue or directly
2
outdoors.
• Alternatively, an extractor fan can be used, connected directly
outdoors, with a capacity rate not inferior to the installation
regulations in force.

6 - COMMISSIONING

• See the "INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE" booklet, paragraph 2,
for burner ignition.
6.1 - Inlet pressure control (fig. 5)
• Supply pressure can be measured using a "U" tube
manometer or an electronic one with a minimum resolution
of 0.1 mbar.
• Unscrew screw "1" from pressure point "2".
• Position the manometer.
• Light the burner and check that the pressure is as foreseen.
• When this is done, reassemble and check for leaks.
• If the inlet pressure is not in the range foreseen (see Table 4),
the appliance will not work properly.
Notify the local gas board.

6.2 - Regulating primary air

• Primary air is fixed; it needs no adjusting.

6.3 - Regulating the pilot burner

• Make sure the flame envelopes the thermocouple and its
appearance is correct. To the contrary, check that the right
injector is mounted for the mains gas (see Table 3).
