ÖSSUR 4-HOLE ADAPTER, PIVOTED
The Össur 4-hole adapters, which can be pivoted around 360°, serve to connect the socket, i.e. the container cup
and the Össur modular system.
The fine-notched rotatable adjustment offers the option of setting the internal or external rotation quickly and
simply after the prosthesis socket has been finished without having to take the unit apart.
Due to the special construction, the adapter ensures that the unit can still be turned through 360° around the
threaded rod, even after being screwed tight.
Important: when choosing the adapter, please observe the approved maximum body weight. Add possible extra
loads to the patient's body weight (e.g. bottle crates) to avoid any possibility of the maximum body weight being
exceeded.
THE FOLLOWING POINTS MUST BE OBSERVED WHEN USING THE ÖSSUR 4-HOLE ADAPTER:
1. When mounting the adapter, make sure that the whole surfaces of both the base of the socket or the socket
connector and the adapter are in contact.
2. The M6 hexagon socket screws must always be tightened to the specifi cations of the opposite adapter or
counterpart (socket connector, socket adapter).
3. Applies only to the Össur 4-hole pyramid receivers: the M8 threaded rods of the adapter must always be
tightened to a torque of 15 Nm and secured with Loctite.
4. WARNING: any manipulation whatsoever leads to premature wear-and-tear (fracture) of the adapter.

MAINTENANCE
The Össur Adapter must be inspected at least every 6 months. In the course of this inspection, check:
• the general state of the adapter
• for damage
• for wear-and-tear
• the suitability of the patient
(e.g. max. body weight, mobility)
• torque
• if the user has fallen, the entire prosthesis system must be checked meticulously.
LIABILITY
In the event of a claim: Össur will only consider complaints submitted with a copy of the delivery note or invoice
from Össur and exact details of the reason for returning the joint. A manufacturer can only be held liable for the
failure of his own fittings. Any liability of the manufacturer in excess of this is only possible if his fittings are
demonstrably the cause of the damage or loss of function of fittings from other manufacturers.
GUARANTEE
For Össur 4-hole adapter, there is a guarantee period of 24 months.
CE MARK, COMPATIBILITY
All parts have been tested to EC Directive 93/42/EEC and bear the CE mark.
