Measuring fundamentals
The infrared thermometer enables you to measure surface temper-
atures contactlessly in the range from -20°C to +330°C. You can
safely measure hot surfaces or hazardous substances. It is ideal
for establishing thermal bridges when renovating old buildings and
for measuring inaccessible positions. The measuring instrument
shows the temperature in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit.
Application
Switch on the instrument by pressing the measuring key (b).
CAUTION! Automatic switch-off. The instrument will switch itself
off automatically after 5 seconds has passed without pressing a
key.
Press the on-off laser pointer key (e), in order to activate the laser
symbol will appear on the display (c) when
targeting aid. The
f)
the laser pointer aid is switched on. Please note that the laser
pointer only represents a targeting aid. The measurement will
be carried out with an infrared signal. The infrared signal cannot
measure through glass, although the laser pointer can be projected
through it. The instrument will measure the surface temperature
of the glass pane in this case.
Point the thermal measuring instrument at the surface to be meas-
ured and press the measuring key (b). The surface temperature
will be shown on the display (c). Press the switch-over key (d),
in order to switch over the display between degrees Celsius and
Fahrenheit. The measured result will be shown on the display for
5 seconds. A permanent measurement will be carried out if you
keep the measuring key pressed (b).
The measuring instrument has optics at the ratio of 5:1. This
means that the measuring point has a diameter of 1 m (Fig. 1)
at a distance of 5 metres. The surface to be measured should be
at least twice as large as the measured point, in order to receive
1m
accurately measured results.
You can switch the display´s lighting on and off with the display
lighting key (f). The display lighting enables you to work in bad
lighting conditions.
Changing the batteries
If the instrument´s performance deteriorates, then the batter-
ies must be changed. Open the battery compartment (g) on the
instrument´s underside, in order to change the batteries. Used
batteries must be disposed of properly.

Safety advice
• Do not look into the laser beam directly.
• The beam can damage your eyes permanently.
• Do not point the laser beam at persons or reflective surfaces.
• Keep the working area clean and tidy.
• Avoid the instrument being affected by blows and impacts.
• Never expose the thermal measuring instrument to moisture and rain.
• Keep the thermal measuring instrument in a dry, secure place.
• If the thermal measuring instrument will not be used for a long time, then remove
the batteries in order to avoid damage being caused by leakage from the batteries.
• Check the thermal measuring instrument and all individual parts for damage
before use. Only use the instrument if all parts are in proper condition.
• Repairs are only allowed to be carried out by skilled personnel.
• Only utilize the thermal measuring instrument for the measuring activities which
are stated in the operating instructions.
• Only utilize accessories that are expressly recommended for using with the
thermal measuring instrument.
• Any manipulation that leads to increasing the laser´s power is prohibited.
Any liability is refused for damages which arise from non-compliance with this
safety advice.
• The thermal measuring instrument does not contain any serviceable parts.
Do not open the casing for this reason because the guarantee will be invalidated
otherwise.
• Keep the thermal measuring instrument out of the reach of children.
