• Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm.
• Never install telephone jacks in wet locations unless the jack is
specifically designed for wet locations.
• Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals, unless the
telephone line has been disconnected at the network interface.
• Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines.
• Temporarily disconnect any equipment connected to the phone such as
faxes, other phones, or modems.

NSTALLING AND
CAUTION: Disconnect the phone cord from the wall outlet before
installing or replacing the battery.
IMPORTANT: Only the following features will work without AC power or a
properly installed battery, Tone dialing, Outgoing call on Line 1 with receiver
volume control, Dialing of stored numbers from memory, Visual ring indicator
only for Line 1.
Your Two-Line Home/Office Phone uses a 9-volt alkaline battery (not
included) for backup power. In the event you experience a power outage,
you may still use the speakerphone and receive Caller ID (CID)
information.
1. Carefully turn the phone upside down.
2. Loosen the screw on the battery
compartment cover with a screwdriver
and remove the cover.
3. Install a new or replace the old 9V
battery.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover
and tighten the screw. Carefully turn
the phone upright.
