SXS factory silencer SXS09065550 / SXS09065560
SXS factory exhaust SXS11065500
Read these installation instructions carefully to ensure that the exhaust sys-
tem is correctly mounted and operated!
The exhaust system can get extremely hot. Allow the motorcycle to cool down
before you start work.
We advise you to leave the installation to a qualified service technician. Incorrect
installation can result in a shorter service life of the exhaust system and/or
damage to the motorcycle.
Preparations
- Jack up the motorcycle.
- Remove the original main silencer.
- Remove the original exhaust.
Mounting the exhaust system
NOTE:
When mounting the exhaust system, initially hand tighten the screws only. After
completely mounting the system, align the entire system and tighten the screw
connections.
- Position the exhaust and attach the front tab using the original screws.
- Mount the front tension springs (A).
- Using the original screw, screw the exhaust onto the silentblock at the rear.
- Route the exhaust control hose (1) behind the clutch line and mount it on the
exhaust with the original clamp (B).
Avoid contact between the clutch line, exhaust control hose, and exhaust.
Mounting the main silencer
NOTE:
The collar bushing (4), washer (5), rubber bushing (3), and rubber sleeve (2) of
the original main silencer are used.
- Attach the main silencer to the exhaust and mount it on the rear frame (C)
with the included screws M6x35 (6) and the new bushing (7).
Be sure to mount the bushings and washer in the right order (D).
- Align the exhaust system and tighten all screw connections.
When using the main silencer for the first time, the engine rpm must be kept
low for roughly the first 5 minutes to evenly heat the main silencer. This ensu-
res that the rock wool will be fully effective and will be able to keep the volume
down to the required level.
Maintenance
The rock wool of the main silencer must be replaced every 15 hours during
competitive riding and every 30 hours during hobby riding.
