Removing and refitting the removable dose measurer:
The removable dose measurer can be removed and refitted either to provide for the
dispensing of different ground coffee qualities from a No. 60 coffee grinder or from a
SANTOS No. 56 base-mounted dose measurer or from a SANTOS No. 57 wall-mounted
dose measurer, or to remedy an after-sales service problem quickly:
• Removal of a dose measurer placed on the No. 60 coffee grinder to put it
on a SANTOS No. 56 base-mounted dose measurer or a SANTOS No. 57
wall-mounted dose measurer. To facilitate changing and fitting the dose measurer in
this case, it is recommended that the dose measurer lid is taken off with the detection
paddle and its magnet and the coffee outlet area cleared to avoid losing ground coffee on
removal (brush supplied).
• Removal of the dose measurer to replace it quickly by another (for adjustment, cleaning,
repair, etc.).
Fitting the removable dose measurer:
1. Take off the dose measurer lid (24).
2. Press the lever (30) to retract the dose measurer locking pin (29).
3. Remove the removable dose measurer (31) holding it by the tamper (20). Release the
bottom of the dose measurer first (rotation), then downwards to unhook it.
4. Release the lever (30) to allow the dose measurer locking pin (29) to move back to the
ready position.
Fitting the removable dose measurer:
5. Fit the removable dose measurer (31) by positioning the dose measurer slot in the dose
measurer support plate hook (26), then give a turning movement to engage it on the
locking pin (29). Push the dose measurer fully in to the support plate (26) to lock the
removable dose measurer (31) in position.
6. Check the dose measurer (31) is properly locked on by pulling on the tamper nose (20)
7. Refit the dose measurer lid (24) by positioning correctly and inserting fully onto the dose
measurer (31) transparent cylinder.
GROUND COFFEE ADJUSTMENT AND DISPENSING:
Grinding adjustment:
Note: Never operate the machine with the two grindstones in contact. Letting the grindstones
come into contact may result in the grindings jamming in the grinder unit and premature wear
of the grindstones.
The machine is set in the factory so that the "0" marker on the nut (5) graduated plate (12)
corresponds to the finest grinding without the grindstones touching (fig. J and fig. K).
8. Hold the adjustment nut (5) with one hand and press the indexing pointer (7) with the
other
9. Tighten the adjustment nut (5) by turning in a clockwise direction by one or two notches for
finer grinding.
10.Loosen the adjustment nut (5) by turning in an anti-clockwise direction by one or two
notches for coarser grinding.
11.Release the indexing pointer (7) to retain the grinding setting.
12.Draw off a few measures of coffee to check the grinding adjustment.
