The Hozelock Cyprio range of Cascade Low
Voltage pumps are designed for either
submersible or non-submersible use. The
pumps do not use oil or grease for lubrication
and can be used safely in water containing
fish or plants. The motor consists of a sealed
stator and water cooled permanent magnet
rotor. All electrical components are sealed
from the water.
IMPORTANT
1.
WARNING - ALWAYS UNPLUG OR
DISCONNECT ALL APPLIANCES IN THE
POND FROM THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY
BEFORE PUTTING YOUR HANDS IN THE
WATER AND WHILST THE EQUIPMENT IS
BEING INSTALLED, REPAIRED,
MAINTAINED OR HANDLED.
2.
Position the transformer in a garage or
shed close to the mains voltage supply.
The transformer is not waterproof and
must be kept dry and under cover -
allowing for sufficient air circulation.
Do not position the transformer in direct
sunlight, eg greenhouse, window sills, etc
as high temperatures may cause
overheating.
3.
Do not use the supply cable to lift the
pump, as this may cause damage. We
recommend fitting a lifting cord when
the pump is installed in deep water.
4.
Do not operate or leave the pump in
freezing conditions.
5.
Do not allow the pump to run in dry
conditions.
6.
Check that the voltage marked on the
pump corresponds to the Mains Supply.
7.
DO NOT OPERATE THIS PUMP WITHOUT
A METHOD OF FILTRATION ATTACHED.
USING THE PUMP WITHOUT A STRAINER
MAY INVALIDATE YOUR WARRANTY. If
the strainer supplied is not suitable for
your application, Hozelock Cyprio can
supply an additional range of filters
which may suit your needs. For more
details call Hozelock Cyprio Helpline on
01844 292002.
8.
The pump must only be connected to a
safety isolating transformer with a 24V
output.
ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY
Tee Piece
1.
Locate the Fountain Flow Adjuster to the
Tee Piece Body with the peg positioned
downwards to engage in the Tee. Push in
fully and snap them together.
2.
Locate the Valve Stem (A) to the
Waterfall Flow Adjuster (B) and snap
them together. Screw the Valve assembly
into the longer threaded boss (C) on the
Tee Piece (See fig 1).
Telescopic Stem
1.
Slide the Inner Tube (A) through the
Telescopic Stem Nut (B) and "O" ring (C).
Push the Inner Tube (D)into the Outer
Tube and gently screw down the nut.
The maximum to minimum range of the
Telescopic stem is 150mm (6") (See fig 2).
Bell Fountain
1.
Locate the Bell Support (A) to the Bell
Main Body (B) and push it fully home.
2.
Position the Bell (C) to the Body Assembly
and press it into the central location.
(See fig 3).
1

INSTALLING THE PUMP

Position
Build a solid and level platform on which to
place the pump. For installations using the
fountain tops directly on the Tee Piece, the
top level of the platform should be 30 cm
(12") below the water level. For installations
using the fountain tops directly on the Tee
Piece and Telescopic Stem , the top level of
the platform should be a maximum of 45 cm
(18") below the water level.
A typical installation is shown for guidance
(see fig 4).
Fountain only
1.
Place the pump next to the pond and
route the cable back to the 24V
transformer supply, ensuring you have an
adequate length of cable to position the
pump in the pond at the desired location.
2.
Position the pump with the Tee Piece
Assembly and, if required, the Telescopic
Stem with the fountain fitted in the
desired position in the pond.
3.
The fountain height can be regulated to
suit your needs by rotating the Fountain
Flow Adjuster. (A fig 5.)
4.
If required, the 2-Tier Fountain (B fig 5.)
head can be used to achieve a higher
display pattern than the 3-Tier (C fig 5.).
5.
The Bell Fountain creates a decorative
waterbell. The size of the bell can be
regulated by adjusting the flow through
the Tee Piece by rotating the fountain
flow adjuster and/or by raising or
lowering the top of the Bell in the main
Bell Body.
Fountain and Waterfall
1.
Position the pump as previously
described.
2.
Attach a suitable length of 25 mm (1")
hose to the threaded hose tail (D fig
5.)and secure it with a suitable hose clip.
Position the outlet end of the hose in the
desired position.
3.
Screw the threaded hose tail onto the
waterfall outlet side of the Tee Piece.
4.
The combination of waterfall and
fountain will reduce the fountain height
that you can achieve.
5.
When the pump is operating you can
adjust the flow of the waterfall and the
height of the fountain independently.
Waterfall only
1.
Position the pump as previously
described.
2.
Attach a suitable length of 25 mm (1")
hose to the threaded hose tail and secure
it with a suitable hose clip. Position the
outlet end of the hose in the desired
position.
3.
For maximum waterfall flow, screw the
threaded hose tail directly onto the
outlet of the pump. With some
installations, the flow of the water will
need adjustment. If so, screw the Tee
Piece to the outlet of the pump, screw
the threaded hose tail to the waterfall
outlet boss and adjust the flow using the
waterfall flow adjuster (E fig 5.)to suit
your needs.
NON-SUBMERSIBLE INSTALLATIONS
1.
This pump can be operated out of the
pond. In this case, the pump should
ideally be positioned below the water
level to avoid having to re-prime the
pump every time it is started (see fig 6).
If the pump is not positioned below the
water level, fit a Non Return Valve, (not
supplied), to the end of the inlet hose
left in the pond.
2.
Remove the Strainer Cage from the pump
by pressing the latch button (F. fig 5) on
the cage and opening the cage hinges.
3.
Take a sharp knife and cut out the hose
panel from the front of the Strainer Cage
(See FIG 7).
4.
Fit a suitable length of 32 mm (1") bore
hose on to the inlet boss of the pump
using a suitable hose clip (not supplied).
5.
Connect a hose from the outlet of the
pump for the waterfall, as previously
described.
6.
To prime the pump, create a 'U' loop
with the hose ends and pour water down
the waterfall outlet until the system is
full (if a non-return valve is fitted, place
the suction end straight into the pond,
making sure air does not enter).
Note:
Fit a suitable filter (not supplied) to the inlet
hose to prevent dirt, debris and small fish
being sucked into the inlet.
7.
Route the outlet hose to the waterfall.
