7. Handling of the device

The handling of the NANOCOLOR
the switch at the back of the instrument (chapter 6.4 8 ). Assemble the needed amount of
pipette tips (part of TOC tube tests) on the purging unit of the device. Place the prepared
TOC sample tubes in the cuvette holder and insert the holder into the indentations of the

NANOCOLOR
TIC‑Ex housing. Insert the pipette tips into the samples by pushing down the
purging unit (chapter 6.4 5 ) with both hands until it is locked. The green LED (chapter 6.4 3 )
indicates that the device is ready for use. To start the purging process, press the start button
(chapter 6.4 1 ). The device starts pumping air through the samples for five minutes. The
time is counted internally. The blinking orange LED (chapter 6.4 3 ) indicates that the device
is working. After five minutes an acoustic signal indicates the completed process; the air flow
is stopped automatically. Lift up the purging unit by shortly pressing downwards. Proceed
with the samples as described in the manual of the TOC tube test. The pipette tips can be
removed by simultaniously pressing down the black handles on top (chapter 6.4 4 ).
Pressing the stop button
will directly stop the air flow and reset the timer. The red LED (chapter 6.4 3 ) indicates that
the process was aborted by the user. Pressing the stop button

8. Cleaning of the device

Attention:
The instrument housing may be wiped with a wet cloth. Splashes and spillings of
liquid need to be removed from the instrument immediately. The pipette tips are con‑
sumables and must be equipped freshly for each process (part of TOC tube tests).

9. Service

9.1 Disposal

Dispose in compliance with EU‑directive 2012/19/EU (WEEE). In compliance with
EU‑directive 2012/19/EU (WEEE) MACHEREY‑NAGEL disposes old instruments
free of charge.

Note: Disposal using public waste disposal facilities is not permitted. In case of dis‑
posal, please contact your local MACHEREY‑NAGEL representative.

9.2 Warranty

The warranty for this equipment has a duration of 24 months from the date of purchase. The
original copy of the bill serves as a certificate and must be submitted in case of assertion of
a warranty claim. The warranty expires in case of improper handling and/or maintenance of
the equipment; it does not comprise defects due to the external power supply. The warranty is
limited to the repair of faulty parts or ‑ at our sole discretion ‑ to the delivery of a faultless sub‑
