WARNINGS & CAUTIONS:
• TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK, OR DEATH: TURN OFF POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER
OR FUSE AND TEST THAT POWER IS OFF BEFORE WIRING!
• Examine the devices periodically for any foreign matter that may contaminate the
contacts or the insulation material separating the contacts. Contamination decreases
the device's insulating properties. This increases the potential for arcing, possibly
decreases the product's life and may cause fire and/or shock hazard. The frequency of
inspection depends upon the degree of contamination.
• Use this device with STRANDED COPPER WIRE ONLY.

Plugs
To disassemble:
1. Unscrew Plug Skirt Assembly
(2) from Cable Adapter
(NOTE: reverse thread), keeping Environmental Cover
Assembly (1) on Plug Skirt Assembly (2) .
2. Remove ring and unscrew Coupling Nut
Cover Assembly .

To connect cable:
WARNING: All insert locations must be fully populated.
1. Thread cable through either Mechanical Clamp Nut
Nut (10) , then Basketweave Cable Grip (12)
Grommet , Cable Adapter , retaining ring for Environmental
(8) (7)
Cover, and Coupling Nut (4) .
2. Prepare cable and individual conductors, then terminate contacts
following directions found in Section 4.
3. Set Insert Assembly firmly in-place within the Plug Skirt

Assembly (2) , aligning appropriate keyway in Insert Assembly
with key in Plug Skirt . NOTE: Plastic piece of insert assembly is

inserted first, with contact location numbers facing out, followed
by rubber piece with contact location numbers facing in.
4. Locate contact location 1 on the rubber piece of the Insert
Assembly and press desired contact into insert. Follow contact

insertion instructions from Section 5.
To re-assemble:
1. Place Environmental Cover Assembly
(1)
2. Thread Coupling Nut onto Environmental Cover Assembly
(4)
3. Thread Cable Adapter
(7) onto Plug Skirt Assembly
(NOTE: reverse thread) and tighten to torque value found in
Table 3. Verify Plug Skirt Assembly
(2) is wrenched fully to the
shoulder of the Cable Adapter to ensure environmental integrity.

4. Tighten Gland Nut or Mechanical Clamp Nut

found in Table 3. While doing this, push in on the cable to prevent
strain on the wire terminals.
5. If using Mechanical Clamp Nut (11) , tighten cord grip screws to
torque found on Table 3.
Inline or Square Flange Receptacles
To disassemble:
1. Unscrew Receptacle Assembly from Cable Adapter
(5 or 6)
(NOTE: reverse thread), keeping Environmental Cover
Assembly on Receptacle Assembly

To connect cable:
WARNING: All insert locations must be fully populated.
1. Thread cable through Gland Nut (10) , then Basketweave Cable
Grip or Washer , then Grommet , Cable Adapter

retaining ring for Environmental Cover.
2. Prepare cable and individual conductors, then terminate contacts
following directions found in Section 4.
3. Set Insert Assembly firmly in-place, aligning appropriate

keyway in Insert Assembly (3) with key in Receptacle
NOTE: Plastic piece of insert assembly is inserted first, with
contact location numbers facing out, followed by rubber piece
with contact location numbers facing in.
4. Locate contact location 1 on the insert and press desired contact
into insert. Follow contact insertion instructions from Section 5.
To re-assemble:
1. Place Environmental Cover Assembly

2. Place Receptacle
(5 or 6) in rubber or aluminum jawed vise.
3. Thread Cable Adapter onto Receptacle Assembly

(NOTE: reverse thread) and tighten to torque value found in
Table 3. Verify Receptacle Assembly
