PARK DISTANCE CONTROL
Advice
The part „Park distance control", ordering No. Škoda BEA 700 001, is intended sole-
ly for the professional fitting by the contract partners of Škoda Auto. The fitting
requires the use of special tooling and Workshop Manuals; because of that, the part
must not be sold to final users in a not mounted state.
- The park distance control, ordering No. BEA 700 001, is intended for vehicles Škoda
Roomster, and it serves to facilitate the parking when backing. The four sensors in
the rear bumper watch the distance between the vehicle and a possible obstacle.
The driver is informed on the extent of the free space by the acoustic signal from
the loudspeaker.
- If an obstacle appears at a distance of 160 cm from the rear section of the vehicle,
it is signalled with short beeps at an interval of 1 second. Approaching the obstacle,
this interval gets shorter continuously. At a distance of 30 cm, the beeping changes
into an uninterrupted tone (signal STOP), accompanied with jump changes of the its
pitch, see individual zones, fig. 19.
- The park distance control is not connected to data lines, and therefore, its diagnos-
tics by the instrument VAS is not possible.
- The equipment does not support the presentation of the information on the display
of the car radio.
When removing the individual parts and re-fitting them back, proceed in accor-
dance with the Workshop Manuals. During the fitting, the car battery must be
disconnected.
Remove the rear bumper and the lining of the luggage compartment.
Before gluing the holders of the parking sensors and of the control unit, cle-
an and degrease the respective places with the de-greasers HHA 381 011 and
HHA 381 010. Let them dry for 10 minutes. Once the places have been prepared
in this way, do not touch them anymore, otherwise it is not possible to guaran-
tee a perfect affixing of individual parts!
Explanation to the figures:
No. 5 (hole of the dia. 18 mm)
- Drill the holes from the outer side of the bumper with utmost precision. Remove
possible burrs on the inner side, and clean the holes.
No. 6 (painting of sensors)
- Treat the sensors with an agent (according to the recommendation of the paint ma-
nufacturer).
- Insert the sensors into a template, and paint them.
