OPERATION
Warning: Electrical shock can use death or
injury. Avoid touching exposed conductors of
electricity.
The SPEED START system is designed for use
with vehicle or boats. You will not need a host
vehicle or 230VAC power supply.
It is also possible to use this starter as a portable
power supply at 12V DC and 230VAC in remote
areas or in emergencies.
To use the SPEED START system to start your
vehicle:
- Make sure the vehicle or boat to be started is not
running. Connect the red clamp to the positive
terminal on the vehicle's battery.
- Connect the black clamp to a non moving metal
part of the engine, not to the negative terminal.
- Switch the vehicle or boat ignition to the ON
position. Wait for about a minute. Switch the boat
or vehicle to the start position for no more then 5
to 6 seconds. If the vehicle or boat engine does
not start, wait at least for 3 minutes before
retrying.
Caution: Never allow the red and black clamps
to touch each other or a common conductor.
- When the engine is running, disconnect the
black clamp first and return the cable to its
stored position on the start position.
- Disconnect the red clamp and return the cable to
its position on the system.
- As soon as possible recharge your SPEED

To use your SPEED START system to power
appliance (12V DC):
- Lift up the cover of the cigarette lighter
receptacle (FIG. A-1).
- Insert the cigarette lighter plug from the
appliance into the cigarette lighter receptacle
(FIG. A-1).
Using the SPEED START as a 230V
power supply device.

- When you have finished using it position the
switch (FIG. C-12) to OFF.
- Disconnect the utiliser plug from the SPEED
START socket.
Warning: do not connect utilisers with greater
rated power than 150W! If the SPEEDSTART is
overloaded the safeguards will trigger and it
will be necessary to disconnect the utiliser and
turn the switch FIG C-12 to OFF.
NOTE: The safeguards will also trigger in the
power supply device if the battery voltage falls
below a given level that would damage the battery
itself; a buzzer will sound in advance to advise the
user to disconnect the utiliser.
NOTE: if the safeguards have triggered in the
power supply device, it can be reset by turning the
switch in FIG. C-12 to OFF. Regular operation can
then be resumed by turning the switch to ON.
RECHARGING
____________________________________________________________________________
Important! To maintain the reliability of the
battery, charge it for 12 hours before using it,
every time it is used and at least every 3
months.
____________________________________________________________________________
The unit is rechargeable by either 230VAC (using
the proper power charger) or by use of a 12 VDC.
It's recommended that the battery is kept fully
charged at all times. If the battery is left in a low
charge state it could shorten battery life. Keep in
mind that the time required to recharge the battery
depends on the number of previus battery jump
starts. To check and see if the battery is low, press
the button (FIG. A-2). The meter (FIG. A-3) will
show the battery charge level. Green area of the
meter indicates that it's charged.
To recharge using 230VAC
