INSTRUCTIONS ON ASSEMBLY AND USE
EN
USAGE INSTRUCTIONS
NOTHING'S EASY AT FIRST ...
... most accidents happen to "beginners" within the first ten minutes. Particular
care should be taken during this stage.
HOW TO RIDE THE SCOOTER
• Preparation
You have to ensure that you have sufficient free space both in front and next
to you, especially during your first riding attempts. The route to be travelled
must be free of other road users. Start slowly and cautiously. Please observe
the safety instructions. The front footboard must be in its lowest position.
• Climbing on
Hold the handlebar grips firmly with both hands. Place your strong foot (in
the case of those right-handed, it is in most cases the right foot) on the front
footboard, while the weak foot initially remains on the ground.
• Starting
You should now use your weak foot to thrust yourself forward, so that you
can start to roll with the scooter. As long as you are rolling, maintaining your
balance is easy. It only turns wonky at low speeds or when stationary.
• Charging - Load
You should now place the weak foot slightly transverse to the direction of the
rear part of the rear footboard and shift your body weight backwards onto the
weak foot to "charge the drive". The rear pedals should be pressed all the way
down. Make sure when you place your foot on the rear footboard that it can
not end up under the front footboard, while bobbing.
• Pedalling - Step
You achieve the drive forward by shifting your body weight all the way forward
to your strong foot, upon reaching the lowest position of the rear pedals. You in
turn have to step on the front pedals all the way down, in order to discharge.
• Bobbing
You achieve the typical bobbing rhythm through the repeated Load & Step.
The faster you master the two individual procedures, the faster you can ride!
• Braking
The brakes are activated by pulling the brake lever on the handlebar grip. Ride
with foresight, in order to avoid sharp braking and thereby protect the service
life of the material, as well as to enhance ride safety.
We recommend folding the scooter by hand after each use or using the stand.
The stand is in the direction of movement, located on the left hand side under
the running board. Its use is ensured through simply folding and unfolding.
Aluminium is a good and light material but should also be handled carefully as it
is not as hard as steel, for example.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

Use a dry or damp cloth only to clean the product; do not use special cleaning
agents! Check the product for damage or traces of wear and tear before and after
each use. Do not make any structural changes. For your own safety, please use
original spare parts only. These can be sourced from HUDORA. If parts become
damaged or if sharp edges or corners should develop, the product may not be
used any more. If in any doubt, please contact our service team (http://www.hu-
dora.de/). Store the product in a safe place where it is protected from the ele-
ments, cannot be damaged, and cannot injure anyone.
Replace damaged or worn assembly parts in order to ensure the safety of your
scooter.
ADJUSTING THE BRAKES (PICTURE 10)
The brake system is pre-assembled and pre-adjusted. You should however en-
sure prior to each use that the brake system is functioning properly. In the event
that the braking effect is not satisfactory, it can be easily adjusted. There are
several options, starting with the brake lever all the way to the brakes. The dis-
tance of the brake lever to the handlebar grip can be influenced with the adjust-
ing screw (A). Tighten it to decrease the distance; loosen it to increase the dis-
tance. The screw serves first and foremost to provide the correct degree of grip
for the user. A change will however also slightly alter the braking effect. A loosen-
ing of the screw, increases the distance to the lever. A tightening of the screw
reduces the distance and thus the braking options. Never unscrew the screws
completely out of their holders! The brake lever can only be released until it rests
against the housing. The adjusting nut (B) changes the path of the brake cable. If
you turn adjusting nut (B) towards the cable, the path of the brake cable will be
shortened and the brake engages earlier. If the braking effect is too low despite
the maximum setting, the tension wire of the brake cable can ultimately also be
shortened. Please seek help from a professional, in case you get stuck with the
brake adjustment. Since a malfunction of the brakes can cause serious injury or
damage!
WHEEL CHANGE
Replacement wheels are available as accessories from http://www.hudora.de/
and should be replaced when they get worn down. To change the wheels, loosen
the axle fitting with two Allen keys and remove the wheels from the axle. A screw-
driver or Allen key can be used to push the bearings out of the wheel in order to
use them again in the new wheels. However, it is usually advisable to change the
bearings when the wheels are being changed. Put the bearings into the new
wheel with the spacer sleeve and mount them to the frame with the axle screws.
Make sure that the axle has been screwed on tightly before starting again!
BEARINGS
Your kick scooter is equipped with precision ball bearings, which were filled with
grease under high pressure, during manufacture. For this reason, the rollers of
the kick scooter only run lightly and swiftly, while under load. Bearings are main-
tenance-free, but they are wear parts. Caution! Worn bearings make conspicuous
audible noises and their function is constrained. In order to maintain optimal ri-
ding pleasure and to ensure lasting safety, you should replace bearings, as soon
as they begin to exhibit signs of being worn. In the case of full load and daily use
we recommend the replacement of the rollers and bearings twice a year. Bea-
rings are available as accessories under http://www.hudora.de/.
