6. Maintenance

6.4- Sharpening chopping rotor knives

The sharpener incorporated into the harvester
makes it possible to sharpen the rotor knives at
the harvest place.
Sharp knives require less tractor power to cutting
plants, decrease fuel consumption and guarantee
the best cutting quality.
For safety reasons, remove one of the
gears (C) from the two drums before
starting sharpening. With this procedure,
the drums will stop working during
sharpening.
6.4.1- Removing the gears from
the drums before starting
sharpening:
ATTENTION!
Turn off the tractor and remove
the ignition key before starting
the following procedure.
Remove the covers (A) from the two

gearboxes;
Remove the gears (C) from the two drums

to immobilize them during sharpening.
Replace the covers (A) at the drum gearbox
before start to sharp the knives.
