• If the guard does not work correctly, repair it before using the tool. The disc guard could
functional slowly due to damaged parts, rubbery deposits or an accumulation of residue.
• Do not work with the saw when suspended at a height. In this position you would not have
enough control over the power tool.
• Do not use the tool with the motor stopped. It is not designed for use with a saw table.
• Do not use high speed steel discs. These discs can break easily. Always use original
ROTHENBERGER discs.
• When you work with the machine, always hold it firmly with both hands, in a position safe. The
safest way to guide the power tool is with two hands.
• Secure the workpiece. A piece secured with supports for pipes will be safer than if you hold
it with your hands.
• Wait until the machine has come to a complete stop before removing it.
• Do not use the machine if the cable is damaged. While you are working, do not touch the
damaged cable or pull on the plug of the power cable if the cable is damaged. Damaged
cables increase the risk of electrical discharges.

Adjustment and maintenance
This section contains the general safety precautions that must be observed during the
maintenance of the circular pipe saw.
It is of the utmost importance that the maintenance staff pay strict attention to these precautions to
avoid the possibility of people suffering injuries and to prevent damage to the machine or property.
A qualified person must establish a maintenance programme, which must be followed to ensure
the machine can be used safely.
ROTHENBERGER recommends following the maintenance regulations regularly for the proper
functioning of the circular pipe saw.
Disconnect the saw from the power supply before performing any maintenance tasks. The
maintenance operations must be made by the authorised technical service.
Cutting discs
Verify the condition of the cutting discs. If the disc is damaged or in poor condition, replace it with a
new one with suitable characteristics.
Using a disc with blunt teeth can cause an overload on the saw's electric motor. When you see
that the disc has blunt teeth, you must stop immediately. A cutting disc that is in good condition
may be sharpened a few times by an authorised company. Only use cutting discs recommended
by ROTHENBERGER.
System for securing the pipes
Regularly clean the system for securing the pipes with compressed air. Lubricate the axles of
the wheel (Figure M/1) and its joints (Figure M/2). Clean and also lubricate the drive system
