Alethia Onboard Barcode Scanner Information

Alethia allows for entry of Sample identification using barcodes. The onboard barcode scanner has been
placed on front of the instrument. The scanner is oriented vertically, next to the keypad.
Use of the onboard barcode scanner:
1. With a run in progress, select the test well position corresponding to specimen to be identified.
2. The barcode scanner will turn on indicating it is ready for ID entry.
3. Ensure the barcode label is held vertically and free from printing defects.
4. Hold barcode perpendicular to bench top and 1-2 inches away from barcode scanner, as depicted
below.
5. Scan barcode from left to right in front of scanner.
6. Repeat process for all sample ID's to be entered.
Sample Identification information is limited to 16 characters. Barcodes containing only the following
characters will be accepted:
