Precision Tuning Your XV1 Series
Level the Frame
It is important that the frame sits level on your face so your visual field is clear and in focus.
1. Place the frame on your head while in front of a mirror to level the top of the frame with the pupils of
your eyes.
2. If the frame is not level with your pupils, reposition the frame on your face by adjusting the nose pad,
temple arms, and head strap until the frame is level.
3. If the frame cannot be level with your pupils, visit a local optician to adjust your frame, or call one of our
Technical Support Specialists to assist you with properly adjusting your frame.
!
Attempting to adjust the frame beyond what is defined in these instructions without
assistance may result in damage.
Adjust the Nose Pad
Adjusting the nose pad will change how the frame rests on your nose and allow you to properly see through
the oculars.
• To lower the frame on your face, spread the nose pad apart.
• To raise the frame on your face, pinch the nose pad together.
• If the frame is not centered on your face, bend one nose pad or the other as needed until the frame is centered.
• Flatten or twist the ends of the nose pad for additional comfort.
If basic nose pad adjustments don't achieve a proper and comfortable fit, the nose pad height can be
further adjusted.
1. Use an optical screwdriver to loosen the nose pad screw by no more than two turns, to avoid backing
the screw out completely. This screw also secures your headlight. While the mounting screw is
loosened, use one hand to keep the headlight secured to the frame.
2. Slide the nose pad up to lower the telescopes on your face, or slide it down to raise the telescopes on
your face.
3. Tighten the nose pad screw to lock the new position.

Adjust the Temple Arms and Head Strap
Adjusting the temple arms and head strap are recommended to help distribute weight around your head
for additional comfort.
1. Place the XV1 on your head and bend the temple arms to conform to the shape of your head and down
behind your ears if desired. The temple arms are designed to maintain your desired adjustments.
2. Tighten the head strap bead behind your head. Your XV1 should fit comfortably with minimal pressure
on your nose.
3. To take off your XV1, loosen the head strap bead, grasp both temple arms, and pull the frame up and over
!
your head.
Removing your XV1 by grasping a single temple arm may put additional stress on the
frame over time.
Your Visual Field
When the focus is properly adjusted, the two circles that form the field of view should appear as an ellipse
and be in focus. Due to varying facial geometry, sometimes the preset convergence angle may not be aligned
properly for your eyes. If the field of view is not clear, or you are experiencing double vision or eye strain,
reposition the frame on your face by adjusting the nose pad, temple arms, and head strap until there is a
clear field of view.
Over-the-Head Strap
If adjusting the temple arms and head strap do not relieve pressure on your nose from the telescopes, you
can use the over-the-head strap included with your XV1 series.
1. Fold and snap each strap around the temple arms.
2. Place the frame on your head.
3. Secure the straps together over your head.
