5. LIGHTING AND REGULATING COMBUSTION
The Insert must be closed at all times during
combustion to prevent smoke from leaking
out. Only open to reload.
Follow
the
instructions
combustion:
- T URN the handle on the ash pan cover from 0º
to 90º for a greater provision of air to improve the
combustion process. T he door opens slightly.
T o favour the lighting up process, we recom mend
adjusting the ash pan cover to 90ª to allow a
greater provision of air to improve the com bustion
process.
It is essential to provide an abundant load of fuel
when lighting. T he following loads will depend on
the heat requirem ent desired.
It is adv isable
to leave the door partially open to
avoid condensation and keep the glass clean for
som e minutes after lighting the fire.
Once the fireplace has got going at its norm al
level and the chimney has heated up, regulate
combustion by means of the regulation lever.
When the inflow of air is fully closed, com bustion
will be slow; when the inflow of air is open,
combustion will be more intense.
In order to make the most of your device,
place the combustion regulation lever in the
central position.
When the device is to be used in the sam e room
as other heating devices that require air for
combustion
purposes,
additional inflow of air from outside to facilitate
combustion in all the said devices.
T he use of one or m ore heating devices in the
sam e room reduces the level of available oxygen,
affecting the com bustion of the fireplace and
reducing the draw of the chim ney.
T he top part of the front glass pane does not
include any sealing in order to allow air to enter to

T he said inflow of air also allows a secondary
combustion process at the top part of the device.
By adjusting the handle on the ash pan
cover, a greater provision of air can be obtained to
improve the com bustion process. T his provision of
air enters through the lower section of the log tray
and reaches the centre of the cast iron bottom
section.
(Each time you load fuel, check that these
air intakes are free from the accumulation of ash,
otherwise, they should be cleaned to facilitate
correct combustion)
ATTENTION! When w orking, the metal parts
of the fireplace may reach high temperatures.
Protect your hands w ith a fireproof glov e
w hen touching the said parts.
If you should detect any overheating of the
fireplace caused by:
Fan breakdown.
Faulty thermostat.
You should shut down the device in order to avoid

recomm endations:
Do not add any more fuel
Open the door slightly to let more air in; this
will cause the flam es to grow and consume the
fuel m ore quickly but will also cool the chimney
and reduce draw, cooling the device
