DYNABOOK SSD UPGRADE SERVICE
SERVICE DESCRIPTION
The dynabook Solid-State-Drive (hereinafter called 'SSD') Upgrade Service provides
a one-time replacement of the initial Hard-Disk-Drive (hereinafter called 'HDD') of
your Toshiba/dynabook product to a new technology SSD or an upgrade of the
original SSD to a greater SSD to increase the capacity. The service includes the cost
of the SSD itself, the labour to install, and test the SSD and the logistics to collect and
deliver the product to a given address.
This service is available for all Toshiba/dynabook Satellite Pro, Tecra and Portégé
Laptops (hereinafter called 'products').
This service can be purchased within three (3) years after procurement of your
Toshiba/dynabook product and is then valid for 90-days after purchase.
This service is only available for Toshiba/dynabook products purchased in Europe,
no matter if your product is in or out of warranty or if the original HDD or SSD is faulty.
OBTAINING SERVICE
To obtain service, please contact the dynabook Support Centre which is available to
you on local business days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time, excluding public holidays.

When making contact please ensure that you provide the following information as
a minimum in order to avoid any delays in processing your request:
- Model name (for example Tecra Z40-A-102)
- Serial number
- Service certificate number
- Contact details (contact name, e-mail address and telephone number)
- Contact details (company name and full postal address including area
code/postal code)
For reference the certificate number will have been sent to you via e-mail after
you purchased the upgrade service, while the serial number(s) and model
number(s) of the product(s) can either be found on the original shipping carton
or on the information plate on the underside of the product.
dynabook will then contact you in order to advise on the instructions for
making your product ready for collection or will arrange for you to receive a
free Shipping Voucher if appropriate.
dynabook and its Authorised Resellers and Service Providers reserve the
right to request a proof of purchase (e.g. a paid and dated invoice from the
Authorised Reseller) stating model and serial number before accepting any
service claim.
dynabook shall not be liable for loss of profits or any consequential loss of
data, loss of software or the cost of software reconfiguration.
CUSTOMER OBLIGATIONS
In the event that you are upgrading a product that has already been setup and is
in use, you must ensure that all data and other important information is properly
and fully backed up before returning it for upgrade. You should also ensure that
any confidential, proprietary or personal data and information is removed.

DYNABOOK SSD UPGRADE I
Whilst dynabook or its Service Providers have access to the data on the HDD or
SSD, the greatest importance is placed upon complying with all Data Protection
Acts. The data will neither be used by dynabook or its Service Providers for
their own purposes nor for third party purposes. All data to which dynabook or
its Service Providers may have had access, will be returned or destroyed ten
calendar days after the completion of the Upgrade Service.
By requesting a Upgrade Service, you confirm that any and all data on the HDD
or SSD is solely your legal property.
dynabook is not responsible for damage to or loss of any programs, data or
removable storage media, or the restoration or reinstallation of any programs
or data.
dynabook shall not be liable for loss of profits or any consequential loss, loss of
data, loss of software or the cost of software reconfiguration.
COUNTRY COVERAGE
This service can be purchased in France, Portugal and Spain, and is only valid for
use within the country of purchase.
PARTS AND MATERIALS
This service covers the parts, labour and logistics costs associated with
exchanging the HDD or SSD on a qualifying Toshiba/dynabook product.
Any SSD replaced under this service shall be covered for the remainder of
the warranty period applying to the product, or for one (1) year, whichever is
longer. Any HDD or SSD that has been replaced under this service shall become
dynabook's property.
SERVICE LIMITATIONS
The SSD drive provided in this Service will contain the original image of the
machine.
This service applies to a HDD or SSD upgrade only. It does not apply to
any other failure or defect of your product, including but not limited to those
attributable to any extrinsic cause, accidental damage, improper use,
transportation, wear and tear, viruses, use of non-Toshiba/non-dynabook
components or software, modification, adaptation, improper installation,
improper maintenance, fixes of software or neglect.
This service does not apply if any other failure of the product or component
has resulted from service, maintenance or repair other than by a dynabook
Authorised Reseller or Authorised Service Provider, or if the product or
component labels/serial numbers have been altered or obscured.
The terms and conditions of the dynabook Standard Warranty apply to the
one (1) year warranty period of the replacement SSD.
Should your product require further repair related to a cause not covered by
this service, dynabook reserves the right to charge you for parts, labour and
expenses should the issue not be covered by dynabook Standard Warranty.
dynabook reserves the right to sub-contract the service to a dynabook
Authorised Service Provider.
