Only a 25-gauge or smaller HUBER-point needle should
be used to puncture the ACCU-FLO Reservoir through
the reservoir dome.
Silicone has a low cut and tear resistance; therefore, care
should be exercised when placing ligatures so as not to
tie them too tightly. The use of stainless steel ligatures on
silicone rubber is not recommended.
Place ligatures carefully when securing catheter and
reservoir to connector so as to avoid occlusion of
the connections.
Exercise extreme care to prevent the ACCU-FLO Reservoir
from coming in contact with towels, drapes, talc, or any linty
or granular surfaces. Silicone rubber is highly electrostatic
and, as a result, attracts airborne particles and surface
contaminants that could produce tissue reaction.
Adverse Events
Particulate matter such as blood clots, brain fragments,
or other tissue particles may obstruct the ACCU-FLO
Reservoir, the proximal catheter, and the distal catheter.
