6.8.3 Pull-down bed

Warning of dangers
Maximum permissible load on the bed: 200kg.
• Do not use the bed to store luggage; only leave bedding on the bed.
• Before moving the bed, ensure all articles have been removed from it and that there are no people or obstacles in the way.
• The bed must only be handled by adults when the vehicle is stationary and the engine is not running.
• When moving the bed, keep hands clear of curtains and straps (pinch hazard).
• Beware of the risk of falling when bunkbeds are being used by children, especially those under 6.

• Young children must not be left on the bed unattended. Forbid and prevent them from operating the bed. Keep the control unit out of
their reach. Prevent falls from the bed by using the safety nets.
A-Class Motorhomes
Sleeping position
The bed fitted against the ceiling (roof) in day position must be
lowered over the cabin seats for the night.
Check that the spotlights under the bed are off.
• Close the insulating or isothermal sliding blinds over the
windows and the windscreen
• Push the driver and passenger seat backs forwards (towards the
front of the vehicle)
• Lift up the sun visors
• Ensure there are no people or objects under the bed.
• Unfasten the retaining strap
• Lower the bed to the night position
• Once the bed has been lowered, install the ladder before
climbing onto the bed.
The bed must only be operated by adults. Check that the manoeuvre zone is clear. For vehicles fitted with a fold-down
seat, this must be folded away so as not to obstruct the living area door
