Continuity Test
WARNING:
Never test continuity on a live circuit.
1. Set the rotary function switch to
the
position.
2. Insert the black test lead into the
negative COM input jack. Insert the
red test lead into the positive
jack.
3. Touch the test probe tips to the
circuit or wire you wish to check.
4. If the resistance is approximately
30 or less, an audible signal will
sound. If the circuit is above 2000 ,
the display will indicate "1". The
resistance will be shown on the
display if it is below 2000 .
Diode Test
WARNING:
Never test diodes in a live circuit.
1. Set the rotary function switch to the
position.
2. Insert the black test lead into the
negative COM input jack and the
red test lead into the positive
input jack.
3. Touch the test probes to the diode
under test. Forward voltage will
indicate 400 to 700. Reverse voltage
will indicate "I". Shorted devices will
indicate near 0 and an open device
will indicate "I" in both polarities.
