5. Preparation for Fan Assembly.

Remove screw from the tip of one of the arms. Place
this end against underside (flat side) of arm support,
making sure to align screw hole in arm with screw
hole in arm support. Re-insert screw that was
previously removed but do not fully tighten. Repeat
with each arm.
Remove all 4 screws from flat side (top) of large
decorative band. With flat side still up, set arms on
large decorative band so that the small bracket holes
on arms align with the screw holes in the large
decorative band. It may be necessary to align one
small bracket hole first and partially insert a screw that
was previously removed. Next, align the holes directly
opposite the screw that was inserted and partially
insert a screw there as well. Align the other two small
bracket holes with the holes in the large decorative
band and partially insert a screw in each.
IMPORTANT: Secure all screws in large decorative
band only after all 4 screws have been inserted. Be
sure to tighten the 4 screws inside the arm support
after securing screws in large decorative band.
6. Fan Assembly.
Remove hanging ball from downrod provided by
loosening set screw on hanging ball. Lower hanging
ball and remove stop pin and then slide hanging ball
off of the downrod. [Refer to diagram 1.]
Loosen yoke set screws and nuts at top of motor
housing. Remove pin and clip from motor housing
yoke. [Refer to diagram 2.]
Tip: To prepare for threading electrical wires through
downrod, apply a small piece of electrical tape to the
ends of the electrical wires--this will keep the wires
together when threading them through the downrod.

Determine the length of threaded downrod you wish
to use. Thread safety cable and electrical wires
through threaded end of downrod and pull extra wire
slack from the upper end of the downrod. [Refer to
diagram 2.]
Thread downrod into the motor housing yoke until
holes for pin and clip in downrod align with holes in
yoke--make sure wires do not get twisted. Re-insert pin
and clip that were previously removed. Tighten yoke
set screws and nuts securely. [Refer to diagram 2.]
