Loading a project after an index change (load CPU only)
Situations that require a complete download process
If you make the following changes to the STEP 7 project, select the entire PC system and perform a download:
● Change to an index
● Setting the storage location for retentive data
● Configuration of the LEDs of the hardware
● Change to the name of the CPU
● Configuration of Autostart
● Adding or removing a PROFINET or PROFIBUS interface
Note
Loading a project after a hardware change
If you change the hardware configuration in STEP 7, you must not load the project via the interface assigned to the CPU.
NTP configuration with CPU1507S
When you configure NTP with the CPU 1507S, make sure that the first interface assigned to the CPU is a PROFINET
interface.
Protected project - Lost password
Procedure
If you have forgotten the password for your STEP 7 project when access protection is activated, you must completely reset
the PC station including CPU.
Proceed as follows to carry out a complete reset:
1. Select the PC station display in the information area.
2. To delete the configuration, use the shortcut menu command "Delete the current SIMATIC software configuration".
Administrative rights are required for this configuration option.
3. Open the CPU display.
4. To clear the load memory of the CPU manually, use the command "Settings > Reset > Format the CPU Volume" in the
CPU display.
Result
Access protection is reset. The load process is possible without a password. You can load a new project.
FTP_CMD instruction
The use of the FTP_CMD instruction is offered via the Windows Ethernet interface as an option, but it cannot be used.
Using the "Prioritized startup" functionality
If you want to use the "Prioritized startup" functionality in STEP 7 for the PROFINET interface of the CPU 1507S, the CPU
and the device must be separated using a PROFINET switch (e.g. SCALANCE X205).
