INSTALLATION
1.1
Transport
The converter has been provided with swivel wheels to be
able to move it to various packing stations. These wheels
are suitable for travelling short distances on level, hard
industrial flooring:
· Switch the converter off
· Remove the power plug from the wall socket
· Collect any loose cords
· Unlock the wheels and move the converter to the
required location
· Once in position, lock the wheels using the built-in
brakes.
Be careful:
The converter weighs ± 190 kg (419 lbs.)
The converter can be top-heavy.
Warning!
Ensure that the cords cannot be
damaged. Pay special attention to areas
where people work with vehicles (such

as forklift trucks).
For transport over longer distances strap the converter
onto the enclosed pallet. Then the converter can be lifted
with a forklift truck.
1.2
Storage
· The storage room must be dry
· The converter must not be set up or stored in a place
where it is subject to moisture or water
· Before using the converter after a long storage period,
it must be inspected by a trained service technician
If the converter is taken from a cold to
a warm area, temporary condensation
can form on the converter (both
internally and externally). Turning the
converter on right away may damage

the converter and create danger for the
operator. Let the converter reach room
temperature before turning it on.

1.3
Installation
1.3.1 Mechanical
Warning: the assembled converter in
the stand can be top-heavy. Be careful!
Warning!
The converter can be easily adjusted to allow the paper
chute to be positioned above the packing area.
Adjust height:
· Place the machine on the forks
of a forklift truck;
· Remove the 4 bolts (see figure
below) of the rotary carriages;
· Move the machine with the
forklift truck up or down;
· Fit the bolts again and tighten
them.
Adjust angle:
· Loosen
the

counterclockwise;
· Adjust
the
angle
converter
· Tighten the 4 bolts.
Warning: Do NOT rotate the
head more than 45° down from
the horizontal position
Further adjustments
The paper reel supports are mounted in such a way that
you can position the roll from the top in the supports. If the
converter is positioned with its rear against a wall or stand,
the supports can be turned to the front.
Depending the position of the converter additional changes
need to be implemented such as a gas spring in the door
and/or adjustments to the brakes of the top cover. Please
contact your Ranpak Distributor Service Technician to
adjust the converter
1.3.2 Electrical
The electrical connection regulations are mentioned in
paragraph 2.2 "Electrical Connections". In addition, all
local connection regulations must be followed.
· Connect the foot switch and the remote control.
· Test the functioning of the Emergency Stop button
· Insert the power plug into a grounding-type wall socket.
· Do not use cable reels. When using an extension
cable, note that the diameter must be at least 1,5 mm
(14AWG) with a maximum length of 10 m (33 ft.)
