5.5.1 Restoring factory default paper weight
setting
To restore the sensitivity of feed jam detection to the
factory default setting, perform the following steps:
1. Switch the main switch to the "OFF" or "O" position.
2. Place the EDS switch to the "OFF" or "O" position.
3. Adjust the EDS mode pad length control to the
minimum position (counterclockwise rotation).
4. Press and hold the Reset button.
5. While depressing the Reset button, put the main
switch to the "ON" or "I" position.

6. After holding the Reset button down for approximately
6 to 8 seconds, observe both the red and green lights
blink briefly, then release the Reset button.
7. Press the foot switch for 1 to 3 seconds to initiate paper
feed.
(NOTE: No paper is needed to perform this step.)
8. Release the foot switch. The red light will appear.
9. Put the main switch to the "OFF" or "O" position.
10. Observe the green light on the control panel to be off.
11. Put the main switch to the "ON" or "I" position. The
green light will reappear to indicate the factory default
setting has been restored.
