8.1
Rechargeable battery pack
•
The FillPak TT with Cut Mechanism is powered by a
rechargeable battery pack.
•
A new battery pack will achieve full performance level
after one complete charge.
•
The battery pack can be recharged many times but
will eventually wear out and need to be replaced.
When the operating time is noticeably shorter than
normal, it is time to replace the battery pack.
•
When the charger is not in use, disconnect it from
the power source. Do not leave the battery pack
connected to a charger for more than a week because
overcharging may shorten its life. If left unused, a fully
charged battery pack will lose its charge over time.
•
To maximize the battery pack's life, disconnect it
from the converter when you notice the speed of the
converter slowing down. Allowing the battery to run
out of charge entirely before re-charging it will reduce
the battery life.
•
Extreme temperatures will affect the ability of the
battery pack to charge. Allow it to cool down or warm
up to room temperature prior to use.
8.2
Charging the battery pack
•
Turn the main switch "OFF."
•
Detach the motor cable and foot switch from the
battery pack and remove the battery pack from the
converter.
•
Attach the lead from the charger to the plug of the
battery pack.
•
Connect the charger to an AC wall outlet. The battery
pack indicator on the charger will light up red.
•
The battery pack is fully charged when the indicator
light on the charger turns solid green.
•
Disconnect the charger from the AC outlet and then
from the battery pack.
The charging time depends on the condition of the
battery pack. In general, charging will take approximately
4-5 hours.

Battery pack usage and safety guidelines
•
Only use battery packs and chargers supplied by
Ranpak.
•
Use the battery pack only for its intended purpose.
•
Never use any charger or battery pack that is damaged
or worn out.
•
Do not expose the battery pack to liquid.
•
Do not break into or open the battery pack.
•
Do not replace individual batteries in the battery pack;
replace the entire battery pack.
•
Do not short-circuit the battery pack. Accidental short-
circuiting can occur when a metallic object comes in
direct contact with the terminals of the battery pack.
Short-circuiting the terminals may damage the battery
pack or the connecting object.
•
Exposure to extreme temperatures will reduce the
capacity and lifetime of the battery pack. Always try to
keep the battery pack between 10
(86
F). A converter with a hot or cold battery pack may
o
not work temporarily, even when the battery pack is
fully charged. Battery pack performance is particularly
limited in temperatures below freezing.
•
The FillPak TT converter with Cut Mechanism, when
fitted with a battery supply unit, can generate static
electricity. The foot switch provides grounding, but if
the foot switch is not in contact with the floor (or if the
floor is non-conductive), use the ground wire that is
provided. Refer to the battery kit assembly instructions
on section 9.2 for proper grounding directions.
Do not dispose of the battery pack in
a fire!
Do not discard the battery pack with
Warning!
domestic waste. The battery pack
must be recycled for proper disposal.
