Your frame comes with a pre-installed HSC fork and its LOOK Head Fit 3 headset.
The spacer allowing the placing in compression of bearings was factory set to allow optimal operating and ac-
curacy starting at first use.
In case of headset setting, please follow the advice in the paragraph on "headset settings".
In case of dismounting of the headset, please follow the advice in the paragraph on "dismounting the headset".
In case of remounting the headset, please follow the advice in the paragraph on "remounting the headset".
NOTE:
Setting the height of the stem being dissociated from the tightening of the headset and the mounting
of the fork with its headset necessitating specific tools, it is strongly advised to consult an authorized
LOOK retailer to do the correct and complete dismounting or remounting of the fork.
To perform any maintenance, be reminded that the fork should be placed on a wheel and that abnor-
mal wear of the tabs that would be due to an abrasion on the ground cannot be covered by the LOOK
warranty.
Attention: The forks come mounted on the frames with a specific pivot length for each size head tube.
The length of the pivot remaining beyond the headset allows mounting the C-Stem in upper position.
It is possible to cut the fork pivot to mount the C-Stem in lower position.
For a C-Stem:
We recommend placing the cutting tool (delivered with the frame) directly on the compression fitting
without dismounting the headset and to cut the pivot's height at the end of the gauge.
For a traditional stem:
The cutting procedure being irreversible, we advise you (without dismounting the headset) to mount
your steering station with spacer rings under the stem. In this way you can lower or raise the stem by
modifying its position. When you are certain of the stem's height setting (after several outings) and if
you decide not to change the setting, you can cut the height of the pivot at the closest.
Important: we advise you to always mount the specific 5mm ring (supplied with your frame + fork set)
above a cylindrical clamping stem so that its tightening on the fork's carbon pivot does not create
the beginning of a crack (see Fig. b). By separating the summit of the upper tightening pivot from the
stem, the risks of pivot cracks are conside¬rably reduced, especially when exceeding the advised
tightening torque.
The carbon pivot tube necessitates the use of an appropriate stem. Lack of following the above indi-
cations may have serious consequences on the resistance of the carbon pivot.
The stems used should not have any sharp edges at the rim of the tightening area. The presence of
fillet or chamfer is indispensable for an efficient use of the fork.
The tightening area should be superior to 10cm2 for a cylindrical tightening stem.

Attention: The headset is factory mounted and set so as to be functional starting at first
use without prior dismounting.
However LOOK gives each user the possibility of hardening or easing their steering, of
very fine tuning the compression of bearings by tightening or loosening the spacer as
shown in the figures below:
Start by manually engaging the spa-
cer on the thread insert till it comes in
contact with the upper bearing's com-
pression cone.
For more important tightening, use the
thread wrench advised by LOOK.
Carefully adjust the headset so that no
play subsists and that the fork can rotate
freely with no hard spot.
Be careful not to tighten the spacer
up to blocking the steering that could
prematurely damage the bearing and
conse¬quently the whole steering func-
tion.
