MAINTENANCE / CLEANING

We recommend the pump is correctly maintained and thoroughly cleaned at least
every 6 MONTHS or more often if required to avoid the build up of Biofilm sludge
and slime.
Cleaning brass outlet connector
If required, the brass outlet connector can
be removed from the pump assembly
without the need to open the pump
motor lid.
1. Carefully remove the wing nuts and
set aside.
2. Remove the assembly
face plate.
Copper filter cleaning
1. Lift the reservoir tank lid and
set aside.
2. Noting the orientation of the curved wall
of the copper filter and the position of
the pump bleed pipe (see Fig.1), carefully
remove the pump bleed pipe from the
fixing clip.
!
Do not block or force debris into the bleed
pipe – keep clear
3. Carefully lift the filter
up and away from
the filter locating tabs.
4. Remove and wash with suitable
cleaning solution.
5. Refit the filter within the filter locating
tabs, ensuring correct orientation.

6. Carefully place the pump bleed pipe
into the fixing clip back in its original
position.
7. Replace the lid.
Float mechanism cleaning
1. Inspect float assemblies for any debris
and blockages.
2. Clean float assemblies accordingly,
ensuring the floats can freely move up
and down.

Pipework inspection
1. Inspect inlet and outlet pipework for
blockages.
2. Clear blockages as necessary prior to
reconnecting.
Back of umbrella valve
!
We recommend leaving the inline NRV
fitted in position when cleaning rather than
removing for ease of refitting.
!
Prior to reassembly, ensure the umbrella
valve is correctly seated and not folded in
any way.
5. Reassemble in reverse of the
above process.
Pump motor replacement
The pump motor lid compartment is secured
using Torx screws and provided complete
with a tamper proof label. If the pump
motor needs replacing, please contact our
Technical team for further advice.

Chemical treatment
As part of the cleaning process, we strongly
recommend a full system unblocker, anti-
bacterial clean, flush and a slow release anti-
bacterial solution treatment is adopted.
If antibacterial strips or tablets are used,
they MUST be positioned within the
reservoir on the waste inlet side of the filter;
NOT on the float side of the filter.
We strongly recommend using Advanced
refrigeration cleaning chemicals.
N.B. The contractors should satisfy
themselves that any chemicals used are
compatible with the pump and are used
at a frequency suitable to the environment
conditions. If required, please contact
Aspen Pumps Technical for further advice.
