Cold start
IMPORTANT – Danger of kickback!
Always pull the starter cord straight out. Do not let
it spring back abruptly.
1. Set the START/STOP switch (19-4) to START.
2. Push in the throttle lever detent (19-5) and press the
throttle lever at the same time (19-6).
3. Set the choke lever (19-1) to the CHOKE position.
4. Press the fuel pump (19-3) firmly several times (10x)
until petrol/foam is visible in the suction pump.
5. Pull the starter cord (19-2) out slowly until
encountering resistance, then pull it further out quickly
and firmly. Do not pull the starter cord all the way
to the end of its travel, and guide the starter toggle
back slowly so that the starter cord will be wound in
correctly.
6. Repeat this procedure until you hear the engine fire
briefly.
7. Set the choke lever to the RUN position as soon as
the engine has fired.
8. Pull out the starter cord until the engine starts.
9. Repeat steps 1-8 if the engine does not start.
10. The engine runs at idling speed when the throttle
lever is released.
Warm start
1. Set the ignition switch to START.
2. Set the choke lever to RUN.
3. Lock the throttle lever as described for "Cold start".
4. Pull the starter cord quickly a maximum of 6 times
– the engine starts. Keep the throttle lever fully
depressed until the engine runs smoothly.
If the engine does not start:

Set the choke lever to RUN

Pull the starter cord 5 times
„
If the engine still does not start:
„
Wait for 5 minutes and then try again with the
„
throttle lever depressed

Switching off the engine
1. Release the throttle lever and let the engine run at
idling speed.
2. Set the ignition switch to STOP.
IMPORTANT!
The engine runs on when shutting down – danger
of injury!

Operation

Whilst trimming and cutting, always keep the engine
running in its upper engine speed range

Wear appropriate working clothes

Never raise the spool attachment over knee height

When mowing on a slope, always stand below the

Never work on a smooth, slippery hill or slope

Never use the machine in the vicinity of highly

inflammable fluids or gases.
Risk of explosion and/or fire!
After contact with a foreign object:

Switch off the engine.

Check the machine for damage.
„
People who are not familiar with the trimmer should
„
practice handling it while the engine is turned off.
