Checking the chain lubrication
Check the function of the automatic chain lubrication by
switching on the polemounted pruner and pointing its
tip towards a piece of cardboard or paper placed on the
ground.
Do not touch the floor with the chain! Maintain a
safety distance of 20 cm.
If the check produces an increasing trace of oil, this
indicates the automatic oiling function is operating
correctly.
If there is no trace of oil even though the oil tank is full
Clean the oil flow channel and the chain
tensioning hole
Set the chain lubrication as described in the
"Regulating the chain lubrication" chapter
If this does not solve the problem. Please contact the
customer service.
Regulating the chain lubrication
The chain lubrication is set at the factory. The oil quantity
may vary depending on the wood types and working
techniques, and must be corrected.
1. Regulate the chain lubrication using the setscrew that
is located under the machine.
Turning anticlockwise = Large amount of oil (MAX)
Turning clockwise = Small amount of oil (MIN)
The chain lubrication has been set correctly when
the saw chain throws out small quantities of oil
during operation.
Saw chain and guide rail
The saw chain and guide rail are exposed to significant
loadings and wear. Change the saw chain and guide rail
immediately if correct function is not assured.

Sharpening the saw chain
It is only possible to work safely and effectively
using a sharp and clean saw chain. Damaged or
incorrectly sharpened saw chains increase the
danger of kickback!
A saw chain must be sharpened if
Only sawdust is thrown out, rather than wood chips
The polemounted pruner has to be forced through the
wood during cutting.
For the inexperienced user: Have the saw chain
sharpened by a specialist/customer service.
If you sharpen the saw chain yourself, comply with the
following values and use the supplied round file (additional
special accessories are available from specialist shops).
Saw chain type
Round file
Depth limiter

Sharpening angle α
Side plate angle β

Only remove a little material when sharpening!
We recommend using a chain sharpening tool for
sharpening your saw chain
Cleaning the guide rail (16)
Regularly check and clean the oil outlet openings on
the guide rail and the guide slot.
Remove the burrs that have built up using a flat file.
Turn the guide rail after each chain change/chain
sharpening in order to avoid one-sided wear.
Immediately exchange a damaged guide rail!
