correctly assembled and attached to
the machine and in good conditions.
Never use damaged accessories;
 Replace the defective or damaged
parts, as well all other worn parts.
Check for misalignments on moving
parts or any other conditions that may
condition a proper operation;
 Check if all the nuts and screws are
properly tightened. It is important to
check the machine regularly in order to
ensure its security and efficiency;
 Check if the safety devices are
in perfect conditions and working
correctly. Never use the machine if
any safety device is missing, inhibited,
damaged or worn;
 Make sure that the switch is off when
you plug in the power cable. If the
button is damaged or doesn't allow to
control the machine's operation, it must
be repaired or replaced in order to
prevent an unintentionally start;
 Identify the electrical installation
layout and the water and gas lines in the
area where the work will be performed.
Make sure that any circuits or pipes will
not be damaged while operating the
sander;
 Remove any wrench or adjustment
tool before switching on the machine.
Having a tool attached to the rotating
accessory may result in serious injuries;
Perform all the needed adjustments
and in case of doubts ask your
distributor for assistance.
2.4 - WHILE OPERATING
Keep other people away from
the operating area. Never use
the machine if animals or people,
particularly children, are nearby.
Always
wear
personal
equipment. Using protection glasses,
a P2 protection mask, ear protection,
non-slip safety footwear, gloves and
helmet
under
reduces the risk of injury.
Anyone who enters the work area must
wear personal protective equipment.
Fragments may be projected while
operating the sander and it may cause
injuries outside the direct work area.
The clothing worn while operating
the machine must be appropriate and
tight, such as a work coverall. Do not
wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep
hair, clothing and gloves away from the
moving parts.
Keep the work area clean, organized
and well illuminated in order to reduce
the risk of accidents.
Avoid pressing the "ON/OFF" switch
when holding or moving the machine
while still plugged in. There might be
a contact with the sanding disc and
clothing get tied in.
The control and safety devices installed
in the machine must not be removed or
inhibited.
If the sander allows connecting with
dust extraction devices, make sure that
these are well attached and used. The
use of vacuum cleaners reduces the
dust and associated dangers.
Do not cover the machine while
operating. To avoid the risk of heating,
always keep the ventilation outlets
clean and unobstructed to allow air
circulation.
When using the sander, place yourself
in a stable position and well balanced.
Hold the machine firmly with both
hands to ensure a continuous operation
and to withstand unexpected situations,
such as the sander arm kickback.
The kickback is a sudden reaction that
happens when the sander is switched
on and when the rotating disc gets
protective
stuck or is pressed. The kickback
causes an instantly stop of the rotating
accessory, which in turn causes the
sander arm to be forced in the opposite
proper
conditions,
direction of the sanding disc rotation.
The kickback occurs due to an incorrect
use of the sander or due to a not proper
working procedure which can cause
serious injuries to the user. To avoid
the kickback, the following precautions
must be considered:
 Place and keep the rotating accessory
in the right position and well tightened;
 Never place your hand near the
rotating accessory once it may revert
over it.
 Always use the additional handle to
have as much control as possible over
the kickback forces or reaction binaries
while operating the sander.
 Do not place yourself in the area
where the sander arm will move in case
of a kickback.
 Operate the machine with special
precaution on corners, sharp edges
or flaws in the walls and ceilings to be
sanded.
While operating the machine, Schedule
some time to rest and avoid using it
for long periods of time. Permanent
vibration is very harmful.
A massive load of vibrations may
damage
systems, particularly to whom have
circulatory problems. Inform your
doctor if any symptoms arise caused
by vibration. Among these symptoms,
that occur specially on fingers, hands
and wrists, is also included loss of
sensation, pain muscle weakness, skin
discoloration or tingling sensation.
Avoid using the machine on surfaces
coated with paints containing lead or
other materials harmful to health. Any
contact or inhalation of dust may cause
allergic reactions and / or breathing
diseases. Wear a mask and work with
a dust extraction device if the machine
allows it.
