SPECIAL SITUATIONS
CASE No. 1 : Caution : if the conductors of a panel or power outlet are inadvertently
connected to the same single phase, there will be no voltage between the conductors but
the voltage will be present between these two conductors and the floor. Separate the ins-
tallation from any source of voltage and check the cabling.
Before carrying out any action, apply the safety rules prescribed by UTE C 18-510.
CASE No. 2 : Caution : the presence of the phase on the right and on the left in the power
outlet compartments means that you are in one of the following situations:
1. The circuit is at 400 volts and cabling between phases from a three-phase 400 volt ins-
tallation.
2. The circuit is at 230 volts and cabling between phases from a three-phase 230 volt ins-
tallation.
3. The circuit is at 230 volts and cabling between phases from a two-phase 230 volt ins-
tallation
4. Ground is not connected.
Separate your installation from any source of voltage, check the nature of the network
implemented and the cabling of the circuit.
Before action, apply the safety regulations prescribed by UTE C 18-510.
CASE No. 3 : Caution : if you identify only the protection conductor cabling (lighting of
green LED, red LEDs unlit), the phase/ground cabling has been inverted on the panel or in
the power outlet.
Separate the installation from all sources of voltage and check the cabling.
Before action, apply the safety regulations prescribed by UTE C 18-510.
CASE No. 4 : If the installation you are testing is cabled at 230 volts between phases (see
case No. 2, points 2, 3 and 4), the differential test will not be operational.
CASE No. 5 : 400 V is found on the connector. There is a connection error (e.g. : connec-
tion between 2-phases of a 400 V three-phase network).
