6. Rotate the upper blade to either side and separate it from the foot
(Figure 5).
7. Gently pull the membrane out of its housing by pulling the aluminum
insert sideways (Figure 6).
HOW TO ASSEMBLE THE UNITY™ SYSTEM
1. Lubricate the membrane before sliding it into the housing with
Iceross Clean&Simple spray or equivalent.
2. Mount the upper blade back on the foot and slide the membrane
insert into the lower blade keyhole.
3. Fasten the upper blade with the screw using medium strength Loctite
243 or equivalent (tighten the screw with 2Nm torque) take care not
to over tighten the screw.
4. Snap the heel pad back in place.
5. Connect the tube to the inlet port and use the tube fixture to secure
the tube against the foot.
6. Make sure that the pump is functioning properly and the system is
not leaking.
FINISHING / LINER OPTIONS
Össur recommends that the Unity™ System is used with the Iceross
Seal-In V liner.
caution: Make sure the Flex-Foot sock does not interfere with the
Unity™ System as it could compromise the function of the pump.
MAINTENANCE
The following components of the Unity™ System might need cleaning or
replacing during the lifetime of the product. This is to be considered
normal wear and is not covered by the Limited Product Warranty.
• Membrane
• Duckbill valves
• Tube
It is recommended to have the product inspected every 6 months by a
clinical specialist.
Clean the components with mild soap and rinse with water, isopropyl
alcohol or Iceross Clean&Simple spray.
DO NOT use solvents stronger than isopropyl alcohol.

numbers.
IN CASE THE UNITY™ SYSTEM IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY
Check the following:
• Is there a leakage in the socket?
• Is the tube punctured?
• Is the membrane punctured or torn?
• Has the membrane been pulled out of the membrane housing?
• Is there dust or grit inside the system?
• Is the tube fully inserted on the inlet port? (Check both at the Unity™
Socket valve and at the Unity™ Membrane housing)
• Are the inlet and outlet ports tightened?
• Is the Unity™ Socket valve leaking?
• Is the sock inside the foot cover affecting the systems mechanical
movements?
