Monitoring the core temperature
CAUTION
Damage to the appliance!
Never place the grill thermometer r on the hot hotplates q. The cable
►
and the handle of the grill thermometer r could be irreparably damaged!
NOTE
Store the clean grill thermometer r in the holder 4 on the right next to
►
the socket 5.
Place the used grill thermometer r next to the appliance. For example,
►
provide a heat-resistant tray next to the appliance to place the used grill
thermometer r on.
1) Insert the plug of the grill thermometer r into the socket 5.
2) Select a programme or set the desired core temperature manually as
described in the section "Operating the appliance".
3) If necessary, let the appliance preheat until the hotplates q have reached
the set temperature.
4) Push the tip of the grill thermometer r as far as possible into the centre of
the food whose core temperature you want to monitor. Make sure that the
grill thermometer r does not touch any bone, because the temperature
of the bone rises faster during cooking compared to that of the meat.
5) The core temperature rises gradually during the grilling process. The current
temperature is shown on the thermometer display E.
As soon as the set core temperature is reached, the appliance will beep
continuously. Press any button to turn off this alarm.
NOTE
►
The appliance does not switch off automatically when it reaches the core
temperature and continues to operate unchanged. This allows you to grill
different types of food at the same time without interruption.
If the grill thermometer r is not removed, the thermometer display E
►
continues to show the current core temperature.
As soon as the grill thermometer r measures a core temperature of
approx. 180°C, "
beeps, the appliance switches to standby mode and "OFF" appears on the
display.
Remove the grill thermometer r from the food you are grilling or from the
heat source and switch the appliance on again if you want to continue
using it.
6) Pull the grill thermometer r carefully out of the food and place it next to
the appliance.
