2.1) Electrical connections

!
Carefully follow all the connection instructions, if you
have any doubts do NOT make experiments but consult
the relevant technical specifications sheets which are
also available on the web site www.niceforyou.com.
An incorrect connection may cause serious damage to the
control unit.
N.B. The output for motor M2 is only available on control unit TT5.

2.1.1) Motor connection

The single-phase asynchronous M1 motor powered by the electrical
mains must be connected between terminals 1-2-3-4. DESCENT
corresponds to the ▼ key on the radio controls, ASCENT to the ▲
key (anemometer triggering direction). If the rotation direction is not
correct, invert terminals 1 and 3. M2 single-phase asynchronous
motors powered by the electrical mains, must be connected
between terminals 5-6-7-8. If the rotation direction is not correct,
invert the connections to terminals 5 and 7. In the synchronised
operating mode, motor M1 is the one the limit switches are adjust-
ed in; on M2, the limit switches are not used and are adjusted in
order to ensure they will not trigger.

2.1.2) Power supply

The main supply to the unit must be connected using the terminals
9-10-11 (earth, phase, neutral).
2.1.3) ASCENT and DESCENT inputs
The user must connect two keys as shown in Fig. 6 in order to con-
trol the automation. It is possible to control an ascent manoeuvre
(which corresponds to the ▲ key on the radio controls) or a descent
manoeuvre (which corresponds to the ▼ of the radio controls). Alter-
natively, it is possible to use one key only by connecting it up as
shown in Fig. 7. The operating mode will be "step-by-step" with this
type of connection, which carries out the sequence: ascent-stop-
descent-stop. If the "step-by-step" key is held down for more than 3
seconds (but less than 10) an ascent manoeuvre will be activated. If
the key is held down for more than 10 seconds, a descent manoeu-
vre will be activated. This may be useful for controlling more than one
motor for the same manoeuvre, regardless of the state they are in.
2.1.4) TTBUS input
TTBUS has been developed in order to control the control units for
awnings and rolling-shutters and those motors with a control unit
which can be used for this purpose. The Bus makes it possible to
2.1.5) WEATHER SENSORS input
Either a "wind" sensor ("Volo"), or a special wind-sun sensor ("Volo
S") or a wind-sun-rain sensor ("Volo SR"). can be connected to the
"Climatic sensors" input (terminals 14-15). A total of 5 control units
in parallel can be connected up to the same sensor, taking care to
respect the polarity of the signals (on all the control units terminal 14
must be connected with the 14, and terminal 15 with the 15).

!
In control unit TT5 with the "synchronised" operating
mode, that is with the two motors assembled on the oppo-
site sides to the shutter, it is necessary to make the elec-
trical connections in such a way that the rotation direc-
tions both move in the same direction. This normally
occurs by inverting the M2 connections with the M1 ones.
With the "synchronised" functioning mode, it is not possi-
ble to connect more than one motor. Moreover, it is not
possible to use TTE expansion cards.
!
Do not connect more than one motor to each output if
control unit TT5 is to operate in "independent" mode nor
in control unit TT4; if necessary, use the appropriate TTE
expansion cards.
7
control up to a 100 units individually, by simply connecting them up
in parallel with just 2 conductors (terminals 13-15). Further informa-
tion is provided in the instructions for remote controls via TTBUS.
!
If the "wind" sensor triggers, this will cause an
"ascent" command (the equivalent of ▲ transmitter key); if
the "sun" sensor triggers, this will cause a "descent"
command (the equivalent of ▼ transmitter key).
