ness setting for this type of lamp is = 30%, see Table A) and you send the
Brightness level 1 command with a 25% setting (factory setting), the lamp will
remain switched off because 25% is less than 30% (minimum brightness value
for led lamps).
• Off:
switches the lamp off.
• On:
switches the lamp on at 100% brightness.
6.2 - Further programming instructions
In general, the dimmer can be programmed in a variety of ways. Some of these
enable it to be programmed remotely, without physical access to the program-
ming button mounted on it.
A) Programming with another transmitter, previously memorized in the
dimmer. These procedures are given in paragraphs 8.1 - 8.2 - 8.3 - 11.1 -
12.1.
B) Programming with the dimmer's button. These procedures are given in
paragraphs 9.1 - 9.2 - 11.2 - 12.2.
C) Programming with an external button connected to the dimmer. These
procedures are given in paragraphs 10.1 - 10.2 - 11.3 - 12.3.
• The dimmer's Led N gives four types of signal: on, off, long flash, short flash. The
flashes have the following durations:
– long flash: on for 1.5 s, off for 1.5 s.
– short flash: on for 0.5 s, off for 0.5 s.
• During programming procedures, the dimmer's led responds to the installer's ac-
tions. The lamp connected to the dimmer gives out the same signals; this is handy
if the dimmer's led is not visible during the installation process. Note however that
the lamp's signals may be limited by certain factors: a) the led does not only flash,
but also changes colour to communicate, while the lamp cannot do so; b) when the
lamp goes out, the dimmer stores the last brightness value. If this value is too high or
too low, it may make it impossible for the lamp to reproduce the dimmer led's signals.
Thus, before running a procedure, always set the lamp's brightness to around 50%;
c) a fluorescent lamp will not guarantee the correct sequence of flashes.
• Along with the led signals during procedures, the led also gives out general signals:
– 6 green flashes. At the end of a transmitter memorization procedure, signals
that memory is full and the transmitter has not been memorized.
– 2 green flashes. When the dimmer is powered up, indicates that its memory is
empty (= no transmitters memorized). At the end of a transmitter memorization pro-
cedure, signals that memory is locked and the transmitter has not been memorized.
– 2 red flashes. Indicates an error at any time during a programming procedure.
– orange flashes. Display when running step 01 of a transmitter memorization
procedure. They indicate that the transmitter has not yet been memorized and the
system is ready to accept it.
• All programming procedures have a time out : after releasing a button, you have
30 seconds to press the next one in the sequence. Once this period times out,
the dimmer quits programming mode and indicates that the procedure has been
aborted by flashing red twice and turning off the lamp to which it is connected.
• Some transmitters have multiple channels (such as WM004G, WM006G, P6V,
P6SV, etc.), which are selected by specific buttons. When memorizing these trans-
mitters, before pressing the buttons required by the procedure itself, you must first
select the channel to assign the dimmer to it (several dimmers may be assigned to
a single channel). Then,m when using the transmitter, you must select the channel
for the dimmer you wish to control before sending commands to it, by pressing the
channel button in question.
• Radio programming can be done for all dimmers within the range of the transmit-
ter. Thus, before running a programming procedure, shut off power to any dim-
mers you do not wish to program.
• You can memorize up to 30 transmitter codes, in both Mode I and Mode II.
• To quit a programming procedure without completing it, hold down buttons n and
t of the transmitter programmed in Mode I together for 5 seconds.
7 - PROGRAMMING THE "FIRST TRANSMITTER"
IN MODE I
This procedure is to be used solely for programming the first transmitter, and may
only be used if the dimmer's memory contains no memorized transmitters. This
status is indicated by the dimmer's led emitting 2 long green flashes. If the dimmer
does not flash, one or more transmitters have already been memorized. In this case,
you must delete any existing transmitters before running this procedure. Memoriza-
tion is in Mode I.
01. Shut of power to the dimmer; wait for 2 seconds, then power it up again. The led
will emit 2 long green flashes. Caution! – If the dimmer does not flash, then
a first transmitter has already been memorized and this procedure may
not be used.
02. (within 5 seconds) Hold down button n on the transmitter for at least 8 sec-
onds; release when the lamp turns on to confirm that the transmitter has been
memorized.
03. The dimmer's led emits 2 brief green flashes, as does the lamp, to confirm.
If the procedure did not terminate successfully, the lamp does not turn on. In this
case, repeat the procedure from the beginning.
