ASSEMBLY
BEFORE PERFORMING ANY KIND OF OPERATION ON ELECTRICAL PARTS, MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO VOLTAGE
AT THE ENDS OF THE CABLE WITH THE CONNECTOR.
AS A GENERAL RULE, BEFORE ANY INTERVENTION ON ELECTRICAL PARTS OR MECHANICAL PARTS OF THE UNIT OR
SYSTEM, THE MAINS POWER SUPPLY MUST BE DISCONNECTED.
1) Check the integrity of the female connector with power supply cable;
471028 - CTA12X2.5/1-255
471029 - CTA7X1.5/1-255
2) Remove the transparent nylon bag from the cable end with connector, paying attention not to damage the component;
3) Make sure that there are no residues of yellow sheathing due to the closing of the mould next to the upper end of the connector (see figures
A-B). In case of residues, please contact Caprari SpA.
4) Make sure that the housing hole of the frame that includes the male connector does not contain any dirt or shavings;
5) Make sure that the machined top of the frame where the cable gland and the female connector will reach their stop positions is free from any dirt,
shavings or paint residues;
6) With a small brush, apply a thin layer of CT 615 Orapi Grease on the parts of the connector highlighted in figures C-D-E , paying the utmost care
not to soil pin engaging holes.
WARNING: the plastic tooth at the sides of female connector is NOT a reference for its assembly (see figure C).
Hence, do not use teeth as a reference during connection assembly;
7) Insert the female connector into the hole on the frame, ensuring that its PIN position matches with the male connector on the machine. The
plastic pin of the male connector can be a useful reference, it has to fit into the larger hole on the front part of the female connector. During this
operation, we recommend creating some references using a felt pen, both on frame and on connector (see figures F-G-H-I);
8) Plug in the female connector completely. The circular crown (diameter 47.7mm) should be 1÷2mm above the machined top of the frame. If it is
about 10mm above the top, it means that the connector is badly positioned, remove it and connect it again; see figures L-M.
Not to damage the reference plastic pin, do NOT turn, for any reason whatsoever, the female connector to find the correct insertion position.
In case of accidental breakage of the male connector, this latter has to be replaced: open the motor frame again (in this special case, if the
breakage occurs at the customer's, contact Caprari customer service for the replacement);
9) Insert the gasket on the upper part of the connector, sliding it on the power supply cable (in case of excessive "grip", slightly grease the yellow
cable sheathing) (see figure N);
10) Move the metal washer next to the gasket, sliding it on the power supply cable; (see figure O);
11) With a small brush, apply a thin layer of CT 615 Orapi Grease on the outer part of the gasket (see figure P);
12) Insert the cable gland on the entire connector, making sure that its lower side matches with the shape of the machined surface of the frame (see
figures Q-R);
13) Push the cable gland until it stops. It will stop 5 to 10mm above the machined top of the frame (see figure S);
14) Prepare the 2 clamping screws M8X25 UNI5931-A2, applying on their threads a layer of the medium-strength threadlocking adhesive
Loxeal 55-03 (code 900213);
15) Screw the clamping screws in an alternate way, so as to avoid that the cable gland gets stuck, and make sure that it remains straight and
parallel to the machined surface of the frame (see figure T);
16) Drive the bellmouth cable gland all the way down on the machined surface of the frame;
Apply a torque of 15Nm to the screw.
DISASSEMBLY
BEFORE PERFORMING ANY KIND OF OPERATION ON ELECTRICAL PARTS, MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO VOLTAGE
AT THE ENDS OF THE CABLE WITH THE CONNECTOR.
AS A GENERAL RULE, BEFORE ANY INTERVENTION ON ELECTRICAL PARTS OR MECHANICAL PARTS OF THE UNIT OR
SYSTEM, THE MAINS POWER SUPPLY MUST BE DISCONNECTED.
1) Thoroughly clean the area around the connector and let any liquid or humidity dry;
2) Unscrew the clamping screws in an alternate way, so that the cable gland comes out of its housing parallel to the machined surface of the frame;
3) While the cable gland comes out, carefully clean the areas shown in figure U;
4) Extract the connector from its housing hole on the frame, paying ATTENTION to grip it from the cable gland (do not stress or forcibly pull the
yellow cable);
5) Carefully clean the female connector and the housing hole where the male connector is with cloths and compressed air;
6) In case of replacement of the electric pump in a system or a workshop:
- if the female connector is not immediately plugged in a new frame with a male connector, protect its end by wrapping it in a clean and dry cloth,
then put it into a plastic bag and close it with some adhesive tape on the cable;
7) In case of replacement of the power supply cable:
- if a new female connector with power supply cable is not immediately inserted in the electric pump, protect the male connector on the electric
pump and keep this latter in a safe and dry place.
