4. Connect the mouse and optional
peripherals
1 Connect the mouse to a USB port on the side of
the ultrasound engine (see
2 (Optional) If connecting to the network by
Ethernet, connect an Ethernet cable to the
Ethernet port on the back of the ultrasound
engine (see

information, see "Connecting to the network" in
X-Porte Help or in the X-Porte User Guide.
3 (Optional) Connect the printer:
a Connect the printer USB cable to a USB port
on the side of the ultrasound engine (see
Figure 3
on page 4).
b Connect the printer power supply cord from
the printer power cable to the isolation
transformer.
5. Mount the clinical monitor on the
pedestal mount
For instructions, see the GCX Mounting Assembly
Installation Guide, included with the system.
6. Connect to power and turn on the system
and optional peripherals
1 Connect the system power cord from the
isolation transformer to a grounded
hospital-grade outlet
2 Turn the isolation transformer power switch to
the ON position.
3 Press the power button on the ultrasound
engine.
The power button is green while the system is on.
(When the system is in sleep mode, the power
button blinks green.)
4 (Optional) Turn the printer power switch to the
ON position.

X-Porte Desktop includes three USB ports on the
right side of the ultrasound engine, an ECG port and
Kensington security slot on the left side of the
engine, and video-in and Ethernet ports on the back
of the engine.

Using the mouse
In X-Porte Desktop, you can access all controls by
clicking with the mouse. You can access the Freeze,
Unfreeze, and Select controls by pressing buttons
on the mouse.
Note: The mouse cursor does not appear in the image
area on the clinical display.
