Entering Advanced Configuration Mode
Note:
Before configuring the features, make sure
your radio is set to the channel you wish to
program. You can do so before entering
Advanced Configuration Mode or at any
time during the Advanced Configuration
Mode by rotating the Channel Selector Knob
until you reach the desired channel.
To read or modify Frequencies, Codes and
Auto-Scan, set the radio to 'Advanced
Configuration Mode' by long pressing both the
PTT and the SB1 button simultaneously for 3 to
5 seconds while turning ON the radio until you
hear an audible voice saying "Programming
Mode" and "Channel Number". The LED
Indicator starts blinking a green heartbeat.
Note:
'Idle' Programming Mode is the stage in the
Programming Mode where the radio waits
for the user to start the radio programming
cycle.
Once you are in the 'Idle' Programming Mode,
you are able to hear the Frequencies, Codes
and Auto-Scan settings by short pressing the
26
English
PTT button to navigate along the different
programmable features.
Entering Frequencies Values
The XT420 radio uses the PMR446 band which
has 16 frequencies available.
In 'Idle' Programming mode, the Channel
number becomes the first changeable value.
Select the desired channel by turning the
Channel Selector Knob. An audible voice
indicated the selected channel to configure.
Short pressing the PTT button allows you to
cycle through the other features available for
configuration. Use the SB1 and SB2 button to
change the values. An audible voice indicates
the value selected.
Warning: Only 446.0–446.1 MHz analogue
frequencies are available by default.
446.1–446.2 MHz analogue frequencies
should only be used in countries where these
frequencies are allowed by government
authorities. 446.1–446.2MHz analogue
frequencies are not allowed in Russia.
