Precision Tuning Your Loupe
Level the Frame
Ensuring the frame sits level on your face is crucial. Before any other fine-tuning adjustments can be made,
your frame must sit level on your face.
1. Place the frame on your head while in front of a mirror to level the top of the frame with the pupils of
your eyes.
2. If the frame cannot be leveled with your pupils, visit a local optician to adjust your frame, or call one of our
Technical Support Specialists to assist you with properly adjusting your frame.
!
Attempting to adjust the frame beyond what is defined in these instructions without assis-
tance may result in damage.
Adjust the Nose Pad
The nose pad on most frames is adjustable. Adjusting the nose pad will change how the frame rests on your nose
and allow you to properly see through the telescopes.
• To lower the frame on your face, spread the nose pad apart.
• To raise the frame on your face, pinch the nose pad together.
• If the frame is not centered on your face, bend one nose pad or the other as needed until the frame is centered.
• Flatten or twist the ends of the nose pad for additional comfort.
Flip-up Loupes
1. Change the declination angle of your telescopes by tilting the flip-up hinge at the lower hinge joint.
2. Fine-tune the declination angle of your telescopes by adjusting the vertical slide depth. Use an optical
screwdriver to slightly loosen the mounting screw. Move the vertical slide up for a shallower angle or down
for a steeper angle, then tighten the mounting screw to lock the new position. The mounting screw also
secures the mounting clip to your frame. While the mounting screw is loosened, use one hand to
keep the mounting clip secured to the frame.
3. Fine-tune the pupillary distance of your telescopes by rotating the pupillary distance (PD) knob on the
hinge to adjust the distance between telescopes to align with your eyes.

Adjust the Temple Tips and Head Strap
Adjusting the temple tips and head strap are recommended to help distribute weight around your head for
additional comfort. The temple tips on most frame styles can be custom contoured to your head shape to
optimize comfort.
1. Place the loupe on your head and bend the temple tips to conform to the shape of your head and down
behind your ears if desired. The temple tips are designed to maintain your desired adjustments.
2. Tighten the head strap bead behind your head. Your loupe should fit comfortably with minimal pressure
on your nose.
3. To take off your loupe, loosen the head strap bead, grasp both temple arms, and pull the frame up and
over your head
!
Removing your loupe by grasping a single temple arm may put additional stress on the frame
over time.
Your Visual Field
When the focus is properly adjusted, the two circles that form the field of view should appear as an ellipse and be in
focus. Due to varying facial geometry, sometimes the preset convergence angle may not be aligned properly for your
eyes. If the field of view is not clear, or you are experiencing double vision or eye strain, reposition the frame on your
face by adjusting the nose pad, temple tips, and head strap until there is a clear field of view.
