ASSEMBLY AND CONNECTION:
Fig.
The device can either be mounted on a wall or on a solid pole. The earthing stake (longitudinal rod) must be
2 & 3
hammered as deep as possible into the ground in a moist place and connected to the device earth terminal (
with a corrosion-proof wire. Connect the fence cable to the terminal with the lightning symbol ( ). The device is
only protected against moisture if it is properly assembled. Shield the device from direct solar irradiation. Do not
operate the device when it is lying on the floor. Set the device up in a location where there is no fire hazard.
Z1
The energizer has two fence terminals:
(Z1) = max output
Both outlets can operate separate fences at the same time. A short in the Z2 fence has no strong influence on Z1
Z2
but a short or a deviation in Z1 means a further reduction of Z2. By operating with two fence systems ( Z1 + Z2 )
the indication lamps show the reduced output only.
COMMISSIONING
1
with 12V rechargeable battery, 12V / 100 - 240V mains adapter:
Switch on the device with the pushbutton (1). Keep the button pressed for longer than 2 seconds to switch on/off. A
LED test (LEDs 4 - 9, from left to right) starts after 1 second. After this test, all LEDs go out and after 1 second you
will hear a regular ticking in the rhythm of the pulses; the device is in operation. The device transmits pulses to the
fence and the LED indicators (rechargeable battery, fence voltage and Argutector indicator) light up for 5 minutes. If
none of the LEDs light up (not even the status LED LED1), the 12V rechargeable battery is depleted or the device or
the 100-240V mains adapter is defective.
COMMISSIONING WITH OPTIONAL 12V RECHARGEABLE BATTERY:
12V
Connect the device to the 12V rechargeable battery (red + / black -), ensure clean pole terminals and correct

polarity. Switch on the device with the button (1) (see above). After a few seconds, you will hear a regular ticking;

the device is in operation. The device will not start if the polarity is reversed. Only use rechargeable 12V batteries;
only recharge rechargeable batteries with ventilation in well-ventilated rooms. Disconnect the 12V rechargeable
battery from the device during the charging process.
The rechargeable battery should be recharged before and after every use as well as during longer periods of
storage (every 2 months) and disconnected from the device.
The rechargeable battery must be recharged at the latest when it has discharged 80 % (only 20% charge capacity
left) to prevent complete discharge. The rechargeable battery indicator (LED2) lights up for 5 minutes after swit-
ching on or afterwards only after briefly pressing the push-button:

COMMISSIONING 230V OR 100 - 120V WITH OPTIONAL MAINS ADAPTER
230V
Switch the device on. After a few seconds, you will hear a regular ticking; the device is in operation. The
rechargeable battery indicator lights here at least red at intervals as a function indicator.
With the mains adapter AN50 = 47PSU0008EU/UK/US or AN70 = 47PSU0010, a connected 12V rechargeable

battery can be charged easily parallel to operation. The device is supplied by the rechargeable battery if the 230V

OPERATION:
1
The CONTROL LED 1 lights up when the device is working trouble-free. If the LED lights red, there is a fault. Faults
can be caused by:
•
Rechargeable battery voltage weak, remedy: Recharge the battery
•
Fence voltage too low: Select MODE NORMAL
•
ARGUTECTOR value too low, remedy: Free fence from leakage currents (plants, short-circuits, etc.)
•
In case of interferences in the pulse sequence: Switch off the device for about 30 seconds, contact service
(see below) if necessary (The device has a pulse interval of approx. 1.5 (normal) or 2 (slow) seconds. The
device must be repaired immediately if the interval is less than 1 second.)
•
Activate the display indicators for troubleshooting:
1
The display indicators can be activated with the push-button (1). The display switches off 5 minutes after pressing
the last button. One of the 6 modes can also be set with the push-button (1). The currently set mode is displayed
by pressing the button briefly. All modes can then be selected one by one by continuing to press the button. The
mode selected last remains set after exiting the menu. The device shows the rechargeable battery, fence voltage
and Argutector values again after 5 seconds.
The rechargeable battery indicator (LED 2) provides information about the rechargeable battery voltage.

Cycle sequence monitoring
The device is fitted with cycle sequence monitoring to prevent inadmissible energy being transferred to the fence.
If the cycle sequence rate falls below 1 second, the device switches off automatically and the LED3 flashes up red.
LED

Possible causes: Lightning strikes, continuous flashovers on defence, defective device. Isolate the device in order
to reset the disrupted operation. After switching on again the LED3 must go out, otherwise the device must be sent
in for repair.
The fence voltage and Argutector indicator shows both values alternately.
The 6 LEDs indicate the fence output voltage in 1.000V steps. The display builds up from the left. For minding
security at least 3 LEDs (3.000) should light up otherwise the voltage is too low. Possible causes:
• With fence:
• Without fence:
The 6 LEDs indicate the fence insulation by the Argutector display in 6 stages. The display builds up from the right.
If all 6 LEDs light up, the fence insulation is good and little energy is required to maintain minding security. The less
number of LEDs are alight, the poorer the fence insulation due to leakage currents (plant growth, branches fallen
onto the fence system, short-circuit, poor earthing). Increased energy is required to keep the fence secure.
