c. Then tighten the shoulder strap belts (A 18)
(9a. and 9b. – see page *15*). Tighten but do not
overtighten, as the main load is carried with the
hip belt.
The shoulder straps anchor point (A 28) on
the backplate (A27) of the backpack
vacuum cleaner should ideally be at the level of
the shoulder blades (S 2) (10a. – see page *15*)
and the padding of the shoulder straps (A 17)
should completely wrap around the shoulders
(10b. – see page *15*).
d. Now close the adjustable sternum strap (A 22)
and adjust as needed (11a.–11d. – see page *16*).
Make sure that the sternum strap does not
interfere with breathing. It is only meant to
stabilise the shoulder straps.
e. Now retighten the hip belt stabilising straps as
required once more for better stabilisation of the
hip belt or loosen them for ease of movement.
There should be space to push a flat hand in
between the hip fins and the stomach.
f. Finally, adjust the load control straps on the
shoulder straps (12a. and 12b. – see page *17*).
When loosened, the load control straps
allow better ventilation at the back and more
pleasant wearing comfort, for example, when
doing physically strenuous work. When tightened,
they improve contact with the back and so more
stability in uncertain conditions, for example, on
stairs. The load control straps fulfil their function
best at an angle between 20° and 45° to the
horizontal (12c. – see detail illustration on page
*17*).
g. Loosen or tighten the shoulder strap belts or
the load control straps from time to time during
prolonged working times. This varies the load
distribution between the hips and shoulders and
helps to prevent fatigue.

5.5 Handling

a. Hold the 45° angled handpiece (B 01) firmly
and push the On/Off switch (A 12) to position I.
b. Vary the tilt angle of the suction nozzle (D, E
and F) the whole time so that it is positioned in
a way that you can use the suction power of the
appliance optimally and without loss.
c. If you need less suction power, you can reduce
it by opening the slide on the 45° angled hand-
piece (B 01) (13a. and 13b. – see page *18*).

6. Maintenance and servicing/repairs

6.1 General

The power plug has to be pulled from the wall
socket before doing any work on the machine!
Do not use water or other liquid detergent!
All housing parts, controls and accessories must
be regularly blown off and out with clean, dry
compressed air!
Make sure that the exhaust air vents on the motor
housing are always free and clean!
Before operating the machine, regularly check
that the mains cable, plug and On/Off switch are
not damaged, and have them replaced by our
MENZER Service when necessary!
All non-maintenance-related repairs to the
machine and any work that requires the motor
housing to be opened or that pertain to the power
cable and the On/Off switch must be done by
MENZER Service!
Do not use sharp or pointed tools for maintenance-
related assembly and dismantling. Before operat-
ing the machine, regularly check that the vacuum
cleaner bag and all filter elements are properly
installed and intact. If necessary, replace the parts
mentioned according to the following maintenance
instructions and only operate the machine after
this inspection has been carried out.
We recommend that you replace all filter
elements after the vacuum cleaner bag has
been changed ten times or after the machine has
not been used for one year.
Used and dirty dust bags, filter bags, main
and exhaust filters must be disposed of as
residual waste.

6.2 Changing the vacuum cleaner bag

(page *19* and *20*)
Immediately change the vacuum cleaner bag
when the suction power decreases due to the bag
getting fuller (17a.–17d. see page *19* and *20*).
Please refer to Chapter 6.1 – Maintenance and
servicing/general.
We recommend immediately changing the
vacuum cleaner bag when the machine has
not been used for a long time. In dry storage
conditions an unused vacuum cleaner bag has a
shelf life of five to seven years.
Proceed as follows:
Unlatch the locking clips of the dust container lid
and open the machine at the parting line of the
dust container lid (17a. – see page *19* / 2a. and
2b. – see page *8*).
Pull the vacuum cleaner bag without the filter bag
out of the machine (17b. – see page *19*).
Insert the new vacuum cleaner bag axially into the
filter bag (17c. – see page *20*). Make sure that
the edges fit evenly and tightly (3a. and 3b. – see
page *9*).
Put the dust container lid on carefully (17d. – see
page *20* / 4a and 4b. – see page *10*).
Close the locking clips of the dust container lid
(17d. – see page *20* / 4b. and 4c. – see page *10*
and *11*).
