READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE DEVICE
Caution: This product has been designed and tested based on single patient usage and
is not recommended for multiple patient use.
• Ensure patient performs circulation checks. If a loss of circulation is felt, or if the
brace feels too tight, adjust strap tension to reduce compression to a comfortable
level. If discomfort continues, patient should contact their medical professional
immediately.
• If patient experiences discomfort, for example pressure points, adjust strap tension.
If discomfort remains, patient should contact their medical professional for
adjustments.
INDICATIONS AND USES
Ankle sprain grade I, II, and III, chronic ankle instability, high ankle sprain
(syndesmosis), transition out of a walker and/or cast after fracture or surgery, posterior
tibialis dysfunction, and prophylactic use.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Ankle fracture, excessive swelling, immobilization of dorsiflexion and/or plantarflexion
APPLICATION
1. Insert product into shoe. Unfasten and open dual closure straps (A) (Fig. 1)
2. Insert foot into brace and shoe. Tie shoe laces.
3. Cross, wrap, and fasten dual closure straps (A) (Fig. 2)
4. Cross the stability strap (C) across the top of the foot (Fig. 4)
5. Snugly pull the stability strap (C) around and behind the ankle (Fig. 5)
6. Fasten the rubber strap end (D) down on the stability strap (C) (Fig. 6)
Note:
• This product is intended to be worn with an athletic sock.
• For quick re-application, leave in shoe.
• The stability strap (C) is able to be trimmed with scissors but may need to be a
different length if used in a different stability configuration. After trimming, the
rubber strap (D) must be re-attached.
ADjUSTmENT FOR WIDTH
1. Un-snap and remove the width adjustment snaps (B)
2. Place into slots "1" for small calves, "2" for medium calves (standard), "3" for large
calves (Fig. 3)
3. To reduce bulk, trim the liner at the appropriate indentation under the dual closure
straps (A).
Note: If you have purchased the width extender accessory kit, place into slots "1" for
X-Large calves, "2" for XX-Large calves, "3" for XXX- Large calves. (Extender for XL-XXXL
calves available for additional charge)
INSTRUCTIONS FOR HEAT mOLDABLE FOOTPLATE
1. Remove the soft-good.
2. Using a heat gun, apply approximately 350º F (175º C) of heat evenly to the outside
surface (surface not in contact with the sock) of the desired area of the footplate.
Keep the heat gun 6" (15 cm) from the surface. Apply heat for approximately 20-30
seconds until the plastic is malleable but not melted. Avoid heating rivets – may burn
skin.
